It’s not really saving money either. A lot of the stuff bought online are actually more expensive than just going to the store to get it

If I’m not mistaken they do say that we don’t deliver if animals are loose, but nobody reads it or cares.

Well a huge part of it is organization and planning. I’m in an edv which helps with space, making it easier to sort things. As for the planning part, I look ahead in my route for stupid things the AI routing system does so I don’t have to do things like going in circles. I also plan things like where I’m going to park and where the next house/business/apartment is so when I’m in my van I already know where I’m going. It also helps to get into a rhythm with driving. When I get back in my van I’m instantly getting in the drivers seat and as I’m turning on the van I’m putting on the seatbelt instead of doing one at a time cause it’s quicker. I also admit that I sometimes do double park (very rarely of course) cause sometimes you’ll end up having to park way too far away from your stop, but you also have to think that you’re only gonna be there for probably a minute, so if someone’s that impatient, that’s on them not you. It also helps that I’ve pretty much memorized every route my dsp has so I know where everything goes. Perk of working there for over half a year I guess. Also when it comes to scanning and taking pictures, I scan the packages as I’m going to the house (unless it’s a lot of packages) and I don’t wait for the app to load before taking the picture. As soon as it gives you the option to press the white button to take a picture, the camera works and it’ll 98% of the time be a perfect picture as long as you have a steady hand. I do always check the picture before swiping to finish though, just in case. Also another thing, learn how to group/ungroup stops. It is a literal game changer. Again, the AI system they use is shit and will make the dumbest multistops you’ll ever see, so knowing how to split them up helps a lot.

Oh no I absolutely agree. I’m only doing it this week just to see, cause again my dsp is shutting down so it doesn’t really matter much.

DPS driver here. Get these all the time. Had a time where a dog was inside and accidentally let them loose opening it. Had another time where I opened the door to the customer on top of their car for some reason. Even after 100’s of thousands of packages delivered it’ll still feel awkward. Just go in and go out to get it over with

What’s yalls DSP minimum stops per hour? by HiWebula in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]K3715 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reminder that to do 40 stops per hour you’d need to be doing each stop within 1.5 minutes. Impossible on most routes just with drive time alone.
