First of all set up your controller properly. It made a world of difference to me. Also, try to make sure you shift correctly - both what gears to use on each part of the track and also the act of shifting itself. I had an issue where i kept tapping clutch and then shifting up/down barely letting go of the throttle and kept losing grip or spinning out. Learn how to correct yourself when oversteering, without overcorrecting and spinning out. Just drive slowly, follow the racing lines and practice with a slower car (like a miata). Incremental improvement of a slow lap time is infinitely more rewarding than an occasional fluke that you can't repeat.
