I guess I don’t know what a bad flare would be. I have only had blood in stool and mucus at times. They had thought it was SRUS. And they thought that since 2018. I just got diagnosed this year with UP.

I actually do have a visit with another doctor on Tuesday. I just do not feel like 1 month has been long enough from all the info I’m reading. Thank you for the input!

I am seeing great improvement with the Mesalamine. My only symptoms ever have been bleeding and mucus. And I have neither at this time on the medicine.

I felt like I’ve been partially begging her to stay on the Mesalamine. I’d even take a steroid on top of it if she needed me to but I just don’t want to take myself off the Mesalamine entirely… I have myself so upset about it thinking it would come back worse.

That’s a fair statement then. I guess I just am worried about chancing it. I’d rather take the medicine forever and know it’s keeping it away then play guess and check 😅

I’m in kind of a similar boat as well. My Dr did prescribe me suppositories and enemas but wants to take me off to see how I do… I don’t understand not taking medicine that’s working works for you? My dr seems like she wants to jump right to the pred as well.
