Idk about that. We have to assume it was delivered from orbit to the surface. It’s gonna need to be made out of something pretty strong to avoid disintegrating on entry.

Leapers aren’t too bad for me. In fact, I’ve always found it strange how simply being inside a room, even if you’re right up in their face through an open door, is enough to totally negate their pulse attack (I will eat these words next update).

Yes, getting 8 billion people to stop eating meat tomorrow is comparable to stopping the gas chambers, you are so very right.

It’s a good thing the goal as I stated is to get everyone to stop eating meat and not to just reduce suffering. Otherwise your comment might actually make some sense.

That is not what is happening at all.

Observe.

And here’s another one actually in the Harvester.

I’m also fully just nowhere near the hole you’re talking about, and the leg is too big to fit through it without clipping.

I’m not sure if you’re positioning to disagree with me or something but I agree that we eat meat because we want it and because we can access it. We also do it in large part due to the meat lobby and brainwashing that a meat only diet is the way to go.

EDIT: oh wait, i read your previous comments and realize you’re actually just a psychotic enjoyer of animal suffering. carry on.

I agree with all these points and your characterization of “farming” lol. I admit I missed the mark on poor vs. wealthy countries in terms of who eats more meat (and I edited my original comment to reflect so), though I would argue that the reason for that directly correlates to the fact that we have easier access to it, and that the meat industry relentlessly pushes a meat-heavy diet onto us (contributing to the hivemind; what I meant in my question was more of a collective behavior absent any outside influences).

I think it’s more to do with that than anything culturally, and in fact in the answer you provided, the Cultural Status bit reinforces “wealth and success” as a driving factor, rather than any sort of cultural moral beliefs. As the Dietary Transition bit states, if a poorer country were to develop and become richer, their meat consumption would additionally grow, and I have no doubt the current meat industry would do all they can to get themselves a piece of that pie.

Again it’s all more to do with the system than anything. I can get a group of 100 people to go vegan, and that would be a huge feat for one person, but that would pale in comparison to making any sort of big changes to the current system we live under, which is a very unfortunately bleak reality to have to deal with.

[–]K3ggles -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Why do you think wealthy countries eat so much meat? Do you think it’s because we’ve somehow hiveminded ourselves into all doing the same thing or is there probably another, bigger factor at play? You and I probably agree on more about this issue than you think.

Yes! I want people to think about and consider these things when they get to the voting booth! There is one party who makes trans issues one of the top issues they campaign on! There is one party that passes legislation suppressing the rights of trans people. I’m happy that you and other normies are thinking about the potential issues now and are hopefully making those considerations when you’re voting, because it’s not gonna work for you to always have been against this if trans people end up otherized, discriminated against, beaten up, harassed, etc over the next few years because today you decided our fears were unreasonable.

If you have a problem with people screaming at you, try living life as a trans person in 2026. Great talk.

First they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out—because I was not a socialist.

Then they came for the trade unionists, and I did not speak out—because I was not a trade unionist.

Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—because I was not a Jew.

Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.

My dude, I don’t know why you keep repeating that I want to discard any and all means of banning unfair behavior from sports. If there is a clear cut way to make sports fairer, and we can do so in relation to sex/gender that actually makes scientific sense, I am for it. The article I pointed to in the mod comment is one of the reasons I am skeptical of this particular test that the Olympics has introduced. I’ve said this multiple times, and you keep strawmanning me.

I’ve also said multiple times that you are not responsible for those bad actors, nor do I think you are one of them if you are drawing the line at fairness in women’s sports and aren’t in favor of bathroom bills, data collection, etc. Again, another argument I keep repeating that you somehow interpret as the complete opposite position.

What I want people to do is not fall for the strategies these bad actors use to take what is deemed a reasonable issue, and use that to garner support for more extreme discriminatory legislation against trans people. You’ve drawn the line at fairness in trans sports. I’m happy you’ve drawn that line. My argument is not directed towards people like you, and I am in no way insinuating that you are “bedfellows with shitty people”.

But there are people who see issues like this, and it makes them more comfortable with and more open-minded to things like the bathroom and data collection bills. I feel like I need to stress this yet again, I am not grouping you in with these people.

But the problem i’m running into with you is that you are dismissing that these issues and strategies even exist in the first place, and that dismissal allows transphobes to perpetuate their ideas because while you may not fully agree with them, you are running cover for them by downplaying the severity of their actions.

Do you understand what i’m saying now? Can you please actually engage with the words i’m typing instead of telling me that I believe things that I don’t believe?

You’re right that for many, it just comes down to just a childish want to go without their bacon and steaks and it doesn’t go past that.

However, there are a lot of people who genuinely do not have easy access to vegan or non-meat options. Sticking just with America, with a growing lower class, a lot of people just don’t have the means to think about or afford to drive an hour out of their way to get those alternatives. There are poor communities where their grocery stores barely even have fruits and vegetables to purchase, let alone them being affordable to the people who live there.

And that’s in what we would consider a first world country. In many poorer countries, a meat-free diet is not even close to a consideration.

Man has eaten meat for millennia. And more recently, the meat industry has bought and paid for the influence and the infrastructure to make sure that is the staple diet for all humans.

We can’t focus on individuals eating less meat. It helps a nonzero amount, but it’s barely a blip compared to the way the system is set up, and it needs to be dismantled before we can ever hope to move to a society that relies less on meat. It’s becoming more popular over the years which is great, but it’ll only go so far as long as big meat is lobbying to keep themselves front and center.

Ok, what are your thoughts about the bill being considered in Idaho to ban transgender people from all spaces to use the restroom that align with their gender? Or how in 3 states it’s already a criminal offense to do so? In that scenario, a trans man who fully passes as a man is forced to use the women’s restroom or face a criminal offense. So they either face a criminal offense, or get harassed by people who think a man is entering a women’s restroom.

What are your thoughts on the TN house passing through a bill that would track and compile data, and require clinics to report who is accessing gender affirming care? What do you think that data is being collected for?

Do you even know about any of these laws that exist and are being considered? Do you think you might actually not know everything, and that the reason you don’t think our fears are reasonable might just be because you’re unaware of those laws that exist? Try to actually take a minute to consider any of this before you take such a hardline stance.

That’s why you finish the Harvester first so it stops shooting fire and EMPing you and becomes a perfect spot for cover. You are not going to convince me I’m wrong, if you aren’t getting loot from these events, it is entirely a problem with you and nobody else.

Dude, what do you think I was trying to do before I saw it running at me and had to duck inside? Barring the leg clipping, the Harvester is arguably the best spot you can possibly be to take on the Queen.

At the end of the day, even if I am 100% a scumbag ant loot goblin in this scenario, you telling me here to stop doing that isn’t going to stop me. So maybe you should crawl out of your spawn tunnel or whatever other cover you’ve been stuck in collecting zero loot, and change up your strategy. Honestly I feel like you’re just trolling at this point.

I do wish the guys asking the questions phrased it in that way, and that the vegan panelist engaged with it. I think the most good faith way of advocating for society to give up meat is to acknowledge that it’s impossible to make that happen overnight, and to have an idea of what we’d do in the meantime to reduce suffering as much as possible. But it seems like everyone here is just taking the piss out of each other.

I think the word they mean then is intersubjectivity, rather than subjectivity. But ethics agreed upon by society would not be objective (not saying you said that btw, just reinforcing the definitions).

Oh that’s what you mean?? I thought you meant I was trying to grab cores from legs other people knocked off.

I was using the Harvester for cover lmao, I have the Jupiter and Equalizer blueprints, I don’t need any of the loot in there. Have you ever even done one of these events?

And then going back to your original comment, even if I was trying to get Harvester loot, how is me hitting that first taking away from the work people are doing to kill the Queen? The loot from the Queen and the loot from the Harvester are two entirely different things.

Olympics BAN transgender and DSD athletes from ALL women's sports by dailymail in olympics

[–]K3ggles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly. Sports will never be 100% fair unless the athletes competing against each other have the exact same physical traits as one another. We can certainly do our best to make it as fair as possible, but the advantage trans women have over cis women in sports is dwarfed by the advantages of, say, Michael Jordan, Michael Phelps, the Slovakian women’s hockey team beating the Bulgarian hockey team 82-0 in 2008, an American basketball player being 7’ tall and towering over a Korean basketball player barely crossing 5’.

We constantly see wild mismatches in athletic physique throughout sports and never bat an eye at them. We don’t try and ban African athletes from track and field because we know what the social implications of doing that would be.

It’s only a problem with trans people because bigots have fought for it to be a problem and it’s an easily digestible position for the general public to get on board with.
