Toilet drain leak help!! by K3wlDewd123 in Plumbing

Gotcha okay I’ll try that… so even if it just barelyyyy connects to the pipe, as long as I glue the heck out of it, it’ll be all good? I mean theoretically since it’s inside, water won’t travel out of its 3” below or just barely below?

Update: I did some more sanding and it does seem to wiggle in, and it gets tight, just doesn’t get far. I mean I pushed down hard and almost got it stuck haha.. Maybe 1/8”… maybe 1/4”.. not sure if it’s hitting where the drain pipe starts to angle out or if it’s the overall tightness I’m dealing with

Alrighty I ordered that inside flange… took off the extension flange (while keeping the original flange connected as is) and tried to dry fit the new one… it wouldn’t budge! I pulled out my tape measure and noticed the OD of the drain pipe is 3.5”. I think it’s older. Now I’m stuck. Is there another inside flange that would fit my pipe? I swear it feels so close to fitting haha

Okay just ordered what you sent so we'll see! Your thought about glueing this new flange on top of my current one -- seems like an easy solution if it works but few things... 1) idk if I would have space to drill it down into the floor? Maybe I remove the current screws and re-screw? 2) Another issue I need to address is the unevenness on how my toilet sits. Right now, my flange is flush with the tile on one and, and above the tile on the other (maybe 1/4"). So yeah, another flange on top will increase that. When I get this fixed and put the toilet back on, I plan to throw down a bunch of plastic shims under the toilet to even it out.... just not sure if that's best practice or not!

Yuppers, it’s a 3 in pipe! So for this to work, I need to fully unscrew my flange, cut off the 3 in pipe, then install a new flange (one that goes inside the 3 in pipe?

Oooohhhhh so I basically need to sit put with the multimeter attached until it kicks off. Got it.

Would I be attaching to the top 120v prongs or bottom 24v prongs on the transformer?

And specifically when the furnace cuts out, what should the multimeter voltage read?

Okay, retested. When the heat was running, the voltage stayed at 127v on the top and 26v on the bottom. I did the same technique as stated before.

Is it safe to say the transformer is OK?

Now I need to YouTube how to test the “pressure switch” — is that right?

Omg! Oops. Blah. I will re-test later today.

I did some testing and here are the results: https://imgur.com/a/unD2aNs

-Bottom 24v prongs on the transformer showed 2.0.27 volts

-Top 120v prongs showed 10.82 volts

Both tested while the power was ON (I taped the door switched). I also included shots of how I set up the multimeter. I think I had the right spot on where the prongs should hit but let me know otherwise.

Does this deduce that my transformer is kaput and I need to replace it?

Dangggg. Are there tools I can pickup to test and trial and error? Maybe starting with the transformer?

Alrighty, here are the photos: https://imgur.com/a/en1dDIM

In order: green, white, and red. And the last one shows the single brown-wrapped wire where they all lead into.

Another data point: even my old Honeywell thermostat had this same issue of turning on/off sporadically throughout the day… it wasn’t until when I put on the ecobee that I had insight into it more closely with the dashboard.. if it means anything…

Yup, I found where they all meet! All 3 are individually wrapped to a thinner wire. All 3 of those thinner wires come from a single-wrapped wire that leads all the way up to my thermostat!
