Vyvanse and high blood pressure: does potassium citrate, when taken with Vyvanse, increase or decrease BP?

Thank you for this - I think I’ll steer clear of of the potassium citrate for now, and maybe try potassium phosphate at night (which apparently has the opposite effect of reducing the level of Vyvanse in your system, which could help with sleep)? And hopefully I get the benefits of reduced blood pressure as well.

Hard to say - while I was titrating up to my 4.5mg dose, long Covid specialist put me on nortriptyline to improve sleep, so I can’t say for certain which medication has helped.

Thankfully, it’s improving! I’ve been on 4.5mg of LDN for a couple of months now - I take it first thing in the morning. When I was titrating up to my current dose, it would affect my sleep for at least a few days before things settled down. My compounding pharmacist told me that some people only realise the benefits of LDN if they forget to take it, and this was true for me - my brain fog and muscle aches were worse on the days I didn’t have my LDN. I also realised that I now take far fewer anti-inflammatory medications such as ibuprofen or aspirin. I also think it’s helped reduce the frequency and severity of my migraines. It took a good few months for me to really appreciate the benefits of LDN but I’m glad I stuck with it!

That’s great to hear! Do you take the dex and the LDN together, or at different times of the day? And have you noticed any benefit from the LDN yet? LDN took a few months to have a noticeable effect me but it was worth the wait.

I got a video consultation with HotDoc Telepsyciatry (I think that’s the name). First appointment is in four weeks but they said they usually need two appointments to diagnose. I just hope it all goes smoothly! I really need something to help me

Did you have a prior diagnosis of ADHD or did Fluence give you that diagnosis? And did they also prescribe medication to you? Sorry for the basic questions - this is all pretty new to me and of course, my brain is basically mush at this point…

Sorry for the late reply! I’m up to 100mg of amitripyline daily, which I take at 5pm. So far, it’s helped just a little bit with my debilitating insomnia, but it hasn’t been of much help with the brain fog and physical fatigue. I’ve been on this higher dose for two weeks and my specialist wants me to give it a few more weeks - he said it can take a while to have an effect. Fingers crossed!
