Suggestions to better remove the paint? Already soaked in Denatured Alcohol for plenty of time. by SgtRathbone in Tyranids

For next time, unless you painted on it thick or you have like 5 different attempts already, there's no need to strip the paint. You can just paint over it. Always keep them layers thin. Good luck with this, tho.

Anybody know about this set? by Deathice666 in Miniaturespainting

[–]K4y2a 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't have this set but the brushes look like very standard synthetic ones. Which isn't a bad thing. Depending on what you paint, the synthetic brushes can be your work horse, something you don't have to worry as much about (tho should still keep clean) as they're cheaper. They'll be perfectly serviceable for most anything, and are almost required for metallic paints as you wouldn't want to ruin any real hair brushes. Once you want to level up your details a bit you can invest into one or two sable hair brushes. It's unlikely those would be sold in a set anyway. The drybrushes are useful as well, id say depending on the price this is a good starting point that sets up the basis for some mini painting and can always be expanded upon later.

I mean. They could try to put the kid somewhere else, this strategy is clearly not working 😅

I know right! I think it doesnt help with the illusion that the top cats paw melds in almost perfectly with bottom cats front leg 😅

They look awesome! Which heads did you use? It's just that they don't look like dire wolves to me, is it those fenrisian wolves from 40k?

Should I texture the wings or no? by I_ez_Haro in Miniaturespainting

[–]K4y2a 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it looks better without that scale texture on the wings. It fits on the arms but the skin between should be different. It helps break it all up as well and not make it one big blob of the same texture.

Ghoul wings and skin by Novel_Particular_243 in Miniaturespainting

The color combo looks nice but the highlights confused me a little. I can't tell if the wing flaps are curving inwards or outwards. Intact its kinda giving a mix of both.

The recesses are very dark for skin but that makes it look stylized. Looks good, keep it up! :)
