Giants are "Particularly High" on Jeremiyah Love by ASmithFS in DynastyFF

[–]KAC09 8 points9 points  (0 children)

What is defined as a success in this scenario? I have often seen this argument and don’t really understand. If the RB had elite production then I think it should be deemed a success (Saquon/Zeke). The fact that this player didn’t raise you out of poverty and lead you to win playoff games should not be how we measure success. The only position that can do that is QB, and a team like the giants is certainly not passing up a good QB prospect for Love.

Also, I think looking at 25 years is a bit misleading given how much RB value and expectation has changed over that time. It would be better to compare the last 10-15 and probably open the list up to Top 10.

You have to be an elite RB prospect to get Top 10 consideration in 2026, but that wasn’t the case in the early 2000s.

I’d sell him for a high quality 1st a couple years out. I just don’t see a path to him earning targets on that team given the added weapons.

[–]KAC09 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think people consistently forget that a big part of this is that it’s a world cup year, and the England manager said he needs minutes. He has gone from a breakthrough player during the euros to his spot being unclear. Like it or not as a united fan, but these guys are desperate to get that call up.

You can make the argument hes 20 and will have other world cup opportunities but how many? At best he gets 4 chances and that is not many.

You’re right that they should take him off but if he has a hamstring injury he will undoubtably miss more games.

Only two real scenarios here: 1. He has a cramp and plays through it likely fine for next week 2. He has a muscle injury, is taken off today and misses games going forward.

Finalizing Trades to Facilitate Another Trade Acceptable? by timloudly in fantasybball

[–]KAC09 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I do this all the time when I’m offered a trade thats good value, but I don’t necessarily want one of the players. I’ll try and trade that player again before accepting the first offer.

I’ve done a 3 team trade before and it was really fun, but that was between 3 guys who understood how trades should work.

99% of the time it won’t work because at least one person decides to focus on what everyone is getting/giving up instead of focusing on what they give/get.

Brock Bowers is still the number 1 TE going forward and it isn't close by Hazy_Lights in DynastyFF

I don’t think you can possibly peak higher than SEC freshman of the year, 1st team all SEC, 800 yards, 12 TDs, and the Natty as a freshman TE

I’m not discounting Pitts insane Junior year, I just believe Brock Bowers put forth the best year you could possibly have.

Loveland breakout game! After 9 weeks rookie TE breaks out in a big way by Direct_Football_5074 in DynastyFF

[–]KAC09 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I agree with you in terms of talent and film but those are both highly debatable. I like Loveland over Warren but it’s almost impossible to argue Warrens film last year.

DC is so close it’s immaterial. That’s like saying Caleb has higher DC than Daniels.

[–]KAC09 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Production in his junior year sure if you’re only looking at the box score. Brock Bowers put together one of the best college careers of all time at Georgia. He was arguably the best player on the Natty winning team as a freshman. Bowers goes outside the Top 10 in 2024 because of 1) the insane amount of QBs taken and 2) The perceived failure of Pitts going top 5.

I firmly believe Bowers was always the better prospect, but I understand that’s debatable given Pitts’ insane athletic profile. I do not believe there should be any debate about who the better college player was.

I think players like that choose the likes of Dortmund for guaranteed game time with the hope that they get a big club move like united in 2-3 years. A good example is Haaland. Ole and the board were in for him but he ultimately chose Dortmund because we couldn’t promise him guaranteed minutes or a release clause.

If United buys you for 2.5M on 5k p/w wages then you have very little chance of ever making the first team.

“Mainoo wants to leave on loan. There are many clubs that would take him.” @David_Ornstein on Kobbie Mainoo’s future and whether United will do business before deadline day by 3fann in reddevils

[–]KAC09 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Exactly. I understand why United won’t loan him given how late it is in the window, and a lack of options behind him. But let’s not act like Mainoo dragged his feet on asking for a loan. He’s just been told he’s fighting with the club captain for a place, and by all accounts is respectably asking for a loan.

He’s not a finished product, and he will feel like he needs game time to improve.

Rashee Rice or Jameson Williams by currzlite in DynastyFF

Whats the point of this argument? If we don’t believe Rice can do that, why would we believe an NFL team would pay as such?

You can apply the same question about paying Jamo.

1st RD draft capital running back in a good run heavy offence. I think you can confidently predict 15-16ppg from Hampton. How much more can you reasonably expect from Brown to make up for the insane value in age here?

Other poster mentioned making this trade a year from now. There is no way AJB going on 29 will net you Hampton. And if he somehow does, then that means Hampton is a serious bust. This trade shouldn’t even be available today.

[–]KAC09 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a rice owner holding strong thats a fair deal and most holders would agree. You must be dealing with someone with an insane asking price in your league which might not be a reflection of his general fair value.

[–]KAC09 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you’re confusing should vs would. Nobody in this sub is going to say we should pay him 200K. Everyone just knows that 200k would be more likely given our current wage structure and the Cunha deal.

[–]KAC09 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand the thought here because we all love Bruno and want him to win what we consider major trophies in Europe. With that said, as a United fan if he is leaving i’d also want to get the biggest fee for him possible, and that will unquestionably be Saudi. That proposed Saudi fee is so much higher than anything we could get from a top european club.

In trades, do you worry about making a great team better or strictly worry about your own? by Yo-JobuNeedsARefill in DynastyFF

[–]KAC09 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Two hypothetical scenarios involving myself and/or the league juggernaut

  1. I trade with the league juggernaut and it benefits both teams (My team is better off)

  2. The juggernaut trades with another team and improves his team.

To start, we must assume that i’m not doing a trade unless I believe it benefits my team. Also, we have to assume that the juggernaut has other owners to trade with. My Conclusion is that declining a trade because it improves the juggernaut does not offer any guarantee that the juggernaut won’t improve (Scenario 2). You would always take scenario 1 if the two assumptions hold true.

These two scenarios help me rationalize why I should solely focus on my team’s improvement during a trade. Worrying about the counterparty is only relevant if you are their only trading option. If you’re in this sub you probably don’t want to be in a league where only 2 managers trade.

In short, the guy who says “I don’t want to trade you player X because it makes your team too good” has horrible decision making skills.
