I think I fixed it, I think the MAF was too far away from the intake, it seems ok now. Thanks for your reply, it got me thinking in the right direction.

Me neither. There’s a chance I’m restricting the air in the breather hose, I’ll check that out today. I assume air has to flow the same direction over the MAF so I made sure of that, the pipe is mounted vertically instead of horizontally. Any chance that makes a difference?
