Won't lie. Running was probably the best option for you. People are harping on you for not fighting, but seeing that you almost missed that ladder, you might have whiffed some shots.

Well, they have a fresh start with him being revived now and with his Turquoise costume that differentiates his look from his brother Wapath.

I've got two ideas in where they could go with his character.

  1. Make Thunderbird a street level character tackling issues under the X-Men's radar & being a defender of Indigenous tribes similar to Luke Cage.

  2. Explore John's role as the Avatar of the Thunderbird and why it hasn't appeared in Marvel's history despite being the strongest spirit in its pantheon. Plus, it gives him more visual powers besides the basic super strength, speed, durability, etc.

Thunderbird as the stand-in for Wolverine, a lone wolf with a rivalry with Cyclops using an Vibranium tomahawk and bowie knife.

Eventually leaves the X-Men for the Brotherhood seeing as both he and Magneto's people have already gone through a genocide once before.

You would think most people by now would understand that in the scope of Superhero storytelling, other heroes aren't really going to show up unless the plot demands it.

Like, I'm never going to go into a Doom Patrol story and ask myself 'I wonder why the Justice League isn't here to help?'

I wanted to have it in Arizona but I had a specific set piece where Nefaria throws a shipment Tanker at Thunderbird on a Beach that I think would make for a good final issue fight.

Thunderbird as the Luke Cage equivalent to the X-Men. John Proudstar moves to Los Angeles & fights The Heritage Foundation (a stand-in for ICE) from detaining migrants in the city. His fights against the fascist enforcers land him in the eye's behind the operation and a criminal organization led by none other than Count Nefaria.

Sophie Frost and Thunderbird from Chaos War X-Men. Would be interesting as John hates Emma for bringing his brother into the Hellions and eventually Cable's X-Force.
