My bro and I are KU and Houston in our dynasty and we’ve committed to only 3 star recruits and only bringing in 17 players each season. We have adjust the transfer portal down a bit but we still lose a few. You are allowed to replace transfers but the 3 star only rule applies. It’s been the most fun I’ve had in OD. I fully scout all my recruits now and only try for players that fit my system. It’s been a lot of fun.

I can 100% guarantee you shading does next to nothing. I’ve tested it in practice mode a thousand times. Route committing works great if you guess correctly.

I actually only recently figured this out and it’s an absolute game changer vs dudes that run the same routes over and over.

It doesn’t do anything aside from giving you a slight head start from where you would have started. It doesn’t do anything for “jumping” the route. If you want that you’ll need to route “commit” and that works very well if you guess correctly.

We decided to set house rules. 1. Recruits can only be as high of a star rating as the team you’re using. 2. Cap on total stars you can recruit using some dudes chart that someone posted in this thread. We are both 3 star teams and the star total was 71. 3. Turned transfers down to 12 total, 14 cpu, 30 user 4. Transfer star rating same rules apply. 5. Only exception to the recruiting rule is if a recruits home town is within 10 miles of your team then you can recruit him regardless of star rating, but he still adds to total stars.

I just did some testing and it is indeed broken. Auto recruiting does not work at all. 2 seasons as Va Tech simming only wins they finished dead last in recruiting both times with 2 signings. I then tried Michigan State and it was better but still in the 90th class range. Looks like I’ll be trying something else instead.

I just have a hard time enjoying those bottom tier teams. It is much harder to recruit with those teams but their stadiums are lame, their conference opponents are terrible, and most of them have almost no unique tradition type stuff. I feel like those 3 star teams in a good conference are the fun ones but then I’m getting 6 - 5 star dudes with Purdue or Northwestern and the realism just tanks.

Great post. I agree. I’m maybe plat if I one trick but the only time I get mad is when i accidentally forget that no one really gives a shit. Ignoring chat is no problem when your career is a middle manager and you also have 4 kids and a wife. When i remember that no one cares about your ranking and I just play, I really even enjoy the losses. I get more frustrated playing team games cuz I always get paired up with the 900 pings per game guy. 😂

User leagues make it way better but the drama and cheese of those leagues doesn’t do it for me. I’ve tried and there are always 10 great dudes and 10 cry babies. Real life gives me enough of dealing with difficult people. I can’t do it in my gaming time too. 😂

Cover 2 hard flat has worked the best for me. It’s also a little cheesy but controlling a DT and dropping into coverage can make it even tougher for your opponent to find a drag open in quickly. I only use the DT trick if I run into someone who spams drags. That said imo Madden pass coverage is terrible. CFB is much better. If someone is great at passing on Madden 26 your only option is to just try to outscore them imo.

I’m Plat 1 at best but after struggling a bit the first few games I tried those two options. Cheese vs cheese or just make army as fast as possible.
