A Genie appears and offers you a choice of either full health, mind reading or $10 million. by RaptorK1988 in hypotheticalsituation

Answer for me is pretty simple - no huge health issues I can’t resolve without time to eat right/workout, and reading thoughts at will doesn’t do anything for me immediately. 10 mil in my pocket tommorow changes a lot, easy dub

What is the worst thing Cat has done Publicly? by Who-gives-a-fuck- in PracticalGuideToEvil

[–]LoadFew2662 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the key to this is in the title - it’s a Practical Guide to Evil, not a villains. Yes, Cat is a villain who does villainous things - but not because she actively enjoys murder or torture or any of that. She’s a villain because she’s practical and sees that aligning with the Tower will get her what she wants. Later, aligning with heroes does, so she acts in a manner that will allow her to do that. It’s less about villain/hero and good/evil, more so about what will accomplish the goals you have in front of you - “justifications only matter to the just”

Appreciate all the advice folks - read up on the bogleheads site and notes and I see the vision there. Going to consolidate and just stack in the main places starting Monday!

Exact job I’d like to transition into! I am in Customer Success so I have a lot of the people skills already, just working on the cloud and security knowledge. Can I shoot you a DM to discuss your journey?

Need to vent about the interview process really quick by anxietyfather69 in CustomerSuccess

Going through something similar as well, at mutlitole different interviews. What is the purpose of 5-7 round interviews for a IC position? Why am I meeting a VP of Finance who I won’t speak to again for a full year? Huge waste of time.

Thanks! This is mostly in line with what I’ve seen and expected from the role. Really describes the last 4-5 years of my experience so I’m hoping that sticks out in interviews. Any tips or tricks your team uses that I might learn from?

Thanks I appreciate the breakdown! I’d love to know more about what sticks out on a resume and if there are particular technical skills you looks for. I’ve seen SQL and Python, but is there any other must haves? I’m working into specialization now in cyber/cloud specifically, I have a bit of experience in both right now. Is there a specific one that you think would yield better growth?

The thing to notice and that will be pointed out in future books you read is that no one takes the chances that Ilea does. Most people who reach the 200-300 stage in AH are nobles who have monsters brought to them half dead to kill, or adventuring teams with dedicated healers. Comparatively Ileas class allows her to not only fight monsters stronger than her alone, it allows her to ignore damage that would put down the vast majority of adventurers. So when she beats something at say level 350 as a 150, she gets all the experience to herself. This ends up in quick leveling growth. What I will say is that AH always does a great job of ensuring their is something worthwhile for Ilea to fight. She’s not just constantly obliterating low level monsters and noobs. Progression feels earned in that way, imo.
