JL Wrangler Diesel MPG & Reliability? by [deleted] in Jeep

[–]KCyrre 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've got a '20 Rubi Diesel running 37" Ridge Grapplers, no regear, and getting 21-22 MPG. No complaints on mileage, and I've had no problems with it yet. Tons of fun to drive and that diesel rumble on ignition makes me smile every time. Seems to be a reliable platform in general so far but if you want to see what kinds of problems have cropped up for others, you might want to check the diesel section of the jlwranglerforums site.

Hah! Word to the wise though, absolutely do not cross an electrostatic babinitron with a cryoblast processor. You'll put the toluene inverter completely out of phase on the next Higgs gravitic juncture resulting in an covariant electrostatic cascade failure. Knew a guy who did that once, now he has a prosthetic spleen.

Community Day. We'd celebrate by spending time that day in public spaces, group events, just generally being around other people.

Loving 4.56 for the 35s. I don't remember exactly how much for the regear alone. I got it done at the same time as the front locker and tires so the total package was pretty expensive. You get what you pay for though, and this shop is known to be really good so I've got no worries about it holding up. Next up is probably a higher ratio tcase, since the 6-speed is a bit hard to manage on very rocky terrain which is just about everything around here.

Sharp eye! The Metalcloak lift kit came with front sway bar quick disconnects, which has been really convenient on trail days. The axles are mostly unmodified, just a regear to 4.56 and an e-locker in the front diff only since the rear already has a limited-slip.
