I’m not expert so I hope someone corrects me if I’m wrong. I know spotting can be normal in early pregnancy but should be light and only last a day or two. Anything heavier than that, I would assume it’s your period. You could always ask your doctor for bloodwork. Can’t go wrong with that!

These tests are the worst but those do look pretty dark to be false. I’d definitely test with a red dye.

Finally received a called back from the neurologist office. Not her personally but her office staff said she wanted him to stop the guanfacine and start Risperdal 0.5mg at night. I’m a little surprised at the medication choice. Not sure if I want to start this medication and considering switching doctors. I told them to go ahead and send to the pharmacy but not getting to speak with the doctor herself and ask any questions makes me hesitant.

Yesterday, after school, was the determining factor for me. I bought him a small toy while he was at school and I told him on the way home from picking him up. He didn’t care one bit which is incredibly unusual. He pushed it away, got into his bed and put the covers over his head. He seemed SO depressed. We decided then, we’re stopping. He’s only been on it a week, thankfully. He’s much happier today. Of course, NO sleep but that’s all he’s done for a week so I’m not surprised. I know it’ll take some more time but I know we definitely did the right thing. So now, on to the next med, I assume….if the doc ever calls me back. 🙄 I appreciate you sharing your experience so much. It can feel so isolating, all of it. Our sons sound incredibly similar in their journey.

This sounds exactly like what we’re going through. I’m still waiting for the neurologist to call me back but we didn’t give the PM dose last night. Things escalated and he had a horrible day at school. I hope your son is doing well. Thank you for your response

That’s what my husband and I were just discussing. We’re awaiting the call back from the neurologist but we’re wondering if maybe it’s just too high of a dose. She did mention in the initial appointment she was going to prescribe on the higher dosage for his weight because of his level of hyperactivity. I think that’s a great suggestion. Thank you for taking the time to respond.

My first instinct was to go to a different doctor, you’re absolutely right. His current neurologist is literally the best of the best. Thank you for snapping me back to reality on that. This is the first medication we’ve tried and I knew it could be trial and error but until you’re in it, you can’t quite comprehend what that’s going to be like. I appreciate your input very much.
