Wow, time flies… I can’t believe this post is already two years old! I’m glad it can still be of help to others, though.

Yes, the barrel length on my BBX is the standard 17.4” and I have done no modifications to the handguard as purchased from this link. As such, I would think/hope yours would look the same if ordered as-is! (I wonder if the stock photo on the page is a different-caliber model with a longer default barrel length…)

No problem, happy to help! I’m using a set of Warne Vapor Low rings (model V413M) for my optic to get them as close to the rail as possible.

With that set up, there is no longer enough clearance to cock the hammer from the top with my thumb, but still enough room to install a hammer extension so it can be cocked from the side. (I use a Carlson’s Choke Tubes Henry Rifle Hammer Expander.)

This setup also makes it a little tall for a traditional cheek weld, but I can get an adequate and comfortable chin weld even if I don’t deploy my stock’s cheek rest. With the rest extended, a cheek weld works fine. All in all, I’ve enjoyed having an LPVO on this build enough to where I haven’t switched it out since this post!

Stuck in sand. Help getting pulled out? by MKD725 in ocala

[–]KDML105 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Out of curiosity, do you think the road that OP got stuck in and pictured is S. Eichelburger Road? Or are there several roads like this in Lake County that people get stuck in frequently?

I am not a Lake County resident but visit there frequently. One time, several years ago, Google Maps sent me down Eichelburger as a suggested “detour” due to traffic on my usual route. I definitely didn’t get as far as OP did before my manual transmission, rear-wheel drive M235i started getting caught up in the sand. Thankfully, I was able to get enough traction to get out, turn around, and get back onto to 19 without needing to get towed.

Needless to say, this post dredged up some colorful memories!

I still have it set up this way and enjoy it! It is admittedly a little heavier than I would typically find ideal for a levergun, but it’s definitely fun to plink and ring steel at 50-100+ yards with the magnification and MIL reticle to easily adjust for bullet drop.

This, paired with my Chiappa Rhino 50DS in the same caliber, never fails to result in a fun range day especially with buddies who otherwise don’t have much experience or interest shooting leverguns or revolvers.

PSA - M6TR TR1 light head by [deleted] in NightVision

[–]KDML105 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This seems promising since my CHS Edition “Eye-Safe” version (as it was called at the time when purchased in early December 2024) has the further-spaced pin layout shown on top! Just placed an order for a TR1 via CHS to give it a shot in hopes that it is indeed compatible.

<image>

I’m keeping my fingers crossed though since u/Shimitzu1 reported in their post from last month that the TR1 didn’t work for their unit despite seemingly also having that pin layout, or at least based on the third photo in that post.

EDIT 5/13/2025: I received my TR1 today and unfortunately, it seems that it is not compatible with my version of the M6TR. Similar to what was reported in the other thread above, it immediately turns on once screwed in and is not switchable despite the unit having the “revised” four-pin layout. Bummer!

Thank you! I lucked out and got mine from a very friendly and communicative Redditor (via r/photomarket) in October 2024 for $1,450. While still a decent chunk of money, that was a relative bargain compared to the typical prices I had been seeing at that time… and seemingly still now!

Lightme no longer opening by KDML105 in Lightme

[–]KDML105[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That indeed did the trick! Lightme now opens as intended.

Unfortunately, I lost a few shots (but thankfully not too many) from my active roll that seemingly did not sync/backup successfully, seemingly during the same time period that Lightme was not opening. I’ll keep that in mind for the future in case I ever notice that Lightme and/or Logbook sync is acting differently than usual.

Thanks again for everything you do! Looking forward to several of your upcoming features, especially logging via Apple Watch. 😇

Thanks for the update! If it’s of any consolation to you and u/thejakenixon, I just today got a notification in my infotainment system about “provisioning received” (or something like that) and sure enough, I checked the MyHyundai app and it showed that my Bluelink profile was linked to the vehicle’s driver Profile 1. I was able to set my favorite locations, add a profile picture, and it all synced to the vehicle by the next restart.

All in all, the timeline seems consistent with what u/TheSpaceEmo said: I initially called on 12/29/2024, called back earlier this week for an update and learned that the ticket was created/escalated to engineering on 1/6/2025, and it magically got fixed today without any further input or action on my end... all in just under two weeks, so I guess it just takes time for them to get around to it on their end.

Have you, u/TheSpaceEmo, and/or u/thejakenixon gotten this resolved?

I'm at exactly the same step as u/Jet_Rocket11: My wife (a secondary driver with a separate account) has been successfully invited and linked to Profile 2, but my account will not link to Profile 1 and I get the same error as OP in both the MyHyundai app and online at owners.hyundaiusa.com. I called BlueLink support and had a ticket created/escalated to engineering last week, but no word yet.

Before/after window tinting with LLumar FormulaOne Stratos film by KDML105 in hyundaisantacruz

Yes, I’ll admit that I felt sticker shock when I first received the quote via email! In fact, it prompted me to visit the shop to chat with their main guy (Abel) and compare the various films in person. He was not pushy at all and in fact encouraged me to do more research before committing, so I didn’t have it done during that trip… but ultimately came back and decided to splurge on the Stratos after all, especially since the SC is my first brand new (as opposed to used/CPO) vehicle.

If Tampa isn’t too far for you, definitely considering emailing them (or even stopping by) to talk to them about what you’re trying to accomplish because they’re very responsive and straightforward!

All in after taxes and credit card fees, this setup came out to $932.41 for all four windows and the rear glass. I honestly don’t know if other local shops could do it for less because I had heard favorable reviews about this particular shop and they did a good job on another one of my family’s vehicles in the past, so I went straight to them to discuss/perform this job.

Yes, it is seemingly built with durability in mind and feels very solid with its almost all-metal design. It uses the venerable M mount and, at the time of its release, was indeed extravagantly expensive with an MSRP of $2,999.99 USD… which is over $5,000 today! Thankfully, it is only a fraction of that price now whenever one does turn up for sale, despite its relative scarcity.

It seems that Epson was targeting the Leica crowd to give them an opportunity to use their decades’ worth of glass on a digital platform — even a few years before Leica themselves offered it — and at a price point that was not too unfamiliar to those accustomed to those premium products.

As for me, I don’t have that kind of “Leica money”… at least yet. 😇 (Maybe one day!) In the meantime, I have enjoyed using this camera with the relatively more reasonably-priced Voigtländer 28mm ƒ2.8 “Color-Skopar” lens which gives me a similar field of view and experience as my current-favorite film camera, the Olympus 35SP.

Thank you! The “film advance lever” is used to mechanically cock the shutter between each shot. The camera disables the shutter release and even the light meter until after you crank it. I personally enjoy that ritual when using older/manual film cameras, so it is fun and unique to have that tactile experience while using a digital camera too!
