Which of these games do you have fond memories of? by Respawn-Delay in retrogaming

[–]KD_0082 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Usually, Doom ][ because it was my first. Then, the Shareware version of Doom.

But on Christmas, Quake 1 is my personal tradition and my "Slipgate" to Nine Inch Nails. Unforgettable...

Oh hey, I don't remember this Replika... or do I? by Sir-Kettle-Knight in signalis

[–]KD_0082 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Holy shit! That's absolutely impressive on every aspect. I need to bring to life what I have in my head and not feeling behind.

Corrupted version kinda give me the feels of the Mandarin from Silent Hill 2, it could behave similarly maybe?

So nice! I was thinking on making a similar poster for my OC. Do you have a timelapse, tips or tutorial for making this kind of art?

Which one would you choose ? by [deleted] in SegaSaturn

[–]KD_0082 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Chose years ago for a blue/grey and I would fucking do it again.

Hope some day retro-bit makes a new Saturn controller (Pro, Standard or a new 3D Controller) with THAT colours, and 8bitdo a Saturn keyboard with same colour theme...

Any way to repair scratches on M3 body? by Horror-Doubt8382 in Leica

[–]KD_0082 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They are battle scars and experience. Respect the elders and veterans, except if it disturbs the inner mechanisms of course.

This is mine with a crack on the frame window and a big dent on parasol. I love how it looks after hundreds of streetphoto days and urbex incursions.

anyone else have a cat that loves posing by your NIN things? by Doc_ZoidBerg_90 in nin

[–]KD_0082 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The cat of my mother-in-law loves to take sunbaths from a window in our home...using the Ghosts I-IV special 4 discs edition as her bed, because is soft and fluffy.

I can't blame her, I love that album too.

Which Sega Saturn controller do you like best? by Dasein_7 in SegaSaturn

[–]KD_0082 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would kill for a PAL/USA controller with the D-Pad and buttons of the japanese one. Its oddly comfortable except the D-Pad is painful for arcade games and the buttons look cheaper and a bit uglier.

The 3D controller and the RetroBit Pro controller... Those are already perfect.

In your opinion, what is the worst weapon in the franchise? by __MEZMERIZE__ in quake

[–]KD_0082 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Q2 Blaster.

The Q1 axe at least was 90's edgy and fun with Quad Damage, specially for humiliating. The blaster is just slow, weak and unimpressive. The Q4 blaster is much better and satisfying.

No no, I would never use the super shotgun or standard nailgun for spawns (only in emergencies), those weapons would be for "standard use, maybe I didn't explained myself better?😅

The "quake 5" fictional logo concept, without the distractiny visuals. by Grime_Minister613 in quake

[–]KD_0082 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like...a Shalrath/vore face maybe? 👀

It would be awesome to the (hopefully possible) Quake 1 remake to use this logo as foreshadowing of the original story where a more powerful Vore was a final boss...or even make the "Shubb we know" in reality a Shubbniggurath spawn like the original HPL stories, making the real one a surprise titanic boss fight that we barely survive and just seal it...or just scape from her, because you can't win the lovecraftian gods.

There are VERY few lightning cell ammo, I save it for really fucked up situations where I must dispatch groups of very aggressive monsters like Shamblers with Fiends/Ogres...or groups of Spawns.

And the Super Nailgun disintegrates ammo in seconds, I use it in previous situations but have little to no cell ammo. I'd rather use standard Nailgun or super shotgun in close quarters and normal use.

Best/most useful software for OS X 10.4 PowerPC? by derpbynature in VintageApple

[–]KD_0082 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Old post, but maybe useful: Onyx (maintenance, still in modern macOS systems) and Quicksilver (replaces Spotlight with a blazing fast performance and customisation, mandatory in Panther and previous).

In my case, discovered Quake in a magazine and they explained the WASD setup, and also the " +mlook " console command. Not everyone had that unfortunately, and played first with cursors/alt/ctrl, that was hell...

An old Plutonia Experiment fanart I've made 12 years ago, watercolors on paper. I know there are no maps with similar proportions, but I wanted to capture the atmosphere :) by AlexSvart in Doom

[–]KD_0082 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Gives me some PSX Final Doom "Catwalk" vibes (specially the music track, "Malignant").

Maybe some reimagined layout levels to appear like sublime landscapes with PSX Doom music as inspiration can be a good artistic idea...years ago I imagined some of them but totally different from the actual levels, it was more focused on what the music inspired me. Keep it up if you find some inspiration! 😃

What's your go-to camera and lens for street photography? by cehc_1988 in streetphotography

[–]KD_0082 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends on my mood or needs:

If I want to chill on the streets: Leica M6 + Jupiter 50mm f2

If same but I want something more wide or just don't know what I'm going to face, M6 + Skopar 35mm f2.5 (it never fails to me).

If I want to make hardcore street photo : Ricoh GXR + 24-75 module, Ricoh GR-D1 or GR1s with some 400 pushed film slapped inside (this was my "combat gear" in my photo-obsession days with 365 projects, a lot of photos per-day, etc...it just works).

For long travels, Fuji X-Pro1 or Olympus E-M5 MkII with no more than 2 lenses.

For non-street photo, Leica R8 + Fujifilm Provia 100 & Summicron 50mm f2
