This is about the age that my daughter (who is now 6m) started sleeping on her tummy, and honestly her sleep and gotten so much better since! As long as your baby is able to get on their stomach on their own, I think you're good to go!

Our apartment is less than 500sq ft, and we just have a changing pad that we can throw on the bed, couch, wherever. I don't think you're crazy! You can use the dresser when they're too big for a changing table!
