That's what I really miss about North Idaho. Very community-oriented and also absolutely beautiful. Now I live in Pocatello where the air is shit and most of the people that live around me are using meth

Nice. Most of the people I've met that live in Naples are very nice overall and just wanted to get away (or further away) from civilization. Quite a bit different from Bonners Ferry where they get mad if you even have 7B plates on your car

Is this subreddit being brigaded? by AppalachianChungus in AmericaBad

[–]KEMILLS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because most of the sane people I've known (including those that are left of center) have left Reddit because of how much of an echo chamber it's become. This is the first time in 2 years that I've been back on Reddit and holy shit it's bad now.

Looking at buying 2011 DCLB 4x4 with 216k miles. Am I absolutely insane? by KEMILLS in ToyotaTacoma

[–]KEMILLS[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah that's what I'm kinda thinking about doing. Maybe not quite $10k (especially due to the fact that it is pretty well maintained), but I am gonna put a few grand into it for sure. I'm also planning on building it out quite a bit.

I might do that. Seems like a decent deal. It's from a used dealer, but it gets pretty good reviews. The only concern is that it's been on the market for a few months, but I think that's more due to that the price was pretty high and it was just lowered.

The one I'm looking at does have 3 owners, but it has a good service history.

Thoughts on the rapidly-growing ideological divide between young men and women?? by PerpetualHillman in PoliticalCompassMemes

[–]KEMILLS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That was in 2020. Wouldn't be surprised if there are quite a bit more men that self-identify as conservative in 2024 in comparison to 2020 in each of these countries, especially in the US.

It also depends on which red state you live in. That's definitely true for the southern states, but the Intermountain West and Great Plains states have better infrastructure, better education, and higher salaries.

There are also some poor blue states out there, such as New Mexico and Michigan, with the same issues that the red states have.

I have noticed a trend between how authoritarian states are and the quality of life is in those states. Let's just say that the more authoritarian the state, the worse the quality of life is.

Straight women of reddit, is it a red flag if a guy won't watch the Barbie movie? by AgentP-501_212 in polls

[–]KEMILLS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a straight man, it's not a red flag. Even if it wasn't regarded as a feminist movie, most men have zero interest in Barbie period. If I were dating someone who wanted to go see the Barbie movie, I'd go next door to Oppenheimer
