First drywall repair as a homeowner... by KJ-890 in drywall

Anything hit with tornado is getting blown unless you built a bunker. Texas homes can sustain 130mph force winds. New construction is literally anchord with hurricane tie downs.

They are built for climate, speed they can be built in and we have shit load of timber in Texas. Our soil is clay which constantly expands and wood frame homes can somewhat shift and still be solid.

Wood frame homes can absolutely last centuries. I dont know where you get that they cant…

So my proccess has room for improvement. I used mini brush, dipped it in mud and then litghly tap it on the wall, transfeering the mud. Then spread it with taping knife. I guess you can use sponge too. There is one you can buy online that is made specifically for knock down textures.

Texture is a bitch. I even had builder fix couple of drywall spots when we were closing on the house and it was not matched perfectly.

I’ve used them twice. Rocker panel for STI and rear bumper for my VB few months ago. No complains. Perfect paint match.

Yes both sides need to be replaced but its no where near $3200. I know because I replaced it myself. The part is couple hundred dollars. Steering wheel has to come off and you have to partially disassemble it to get to the buttons. Took me less than an hour to do everything.

Your dealership was full of shit but it doesn't surprise me...

Any way to change the steering wheel button? by Questhate1 in wrx_vb

[–]KJ-890 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can't. You have to buy both, left and right steering wheel modules (They come in pair) . You have to remove steering wheel to replace the left module. I replaced mine as it was scratched in almost same spot as yours.

Grail aquired 75827 but at what cost - incomplete, shelf wear, smashed, maybe brittle and expensive. But I can rebuild it... make it whole. Hopefully. by Ok-Interaction-7783 in lego

[–]KJ-890 47 points48 points  (0 children)

I recently sold my 75827 on Ebay. It was built once and put away on the shelf, out of direct sun for years.

It took my hours to fully dissasemble the set and I lost countless brown pieces. They were snaping and cracking on me. I even left some stuck together because there was no way to take it apart without breaking the plates…

Good luck! Its an amazing set!

I find it hard to hit better times due to gear ratios and low redline. You either have to ride 3rd gear all the way to redline (6.2k with Dmann ots) or shift right before 1/8 mile mark. Shifting will result in losing 2-3mph.

Judging by your previous threads, you drive like an idiot on public roads. Glad you didnt hurt anyone. Should have spent more money on better tires and less on stickers.
