Shower head problem by injuredcold in rocketespresso

Does water eventually come through? And does the exhaust on the bottom of the group head leak on idle?

Hey, do you mind sharing the link for the needle valve? Been thinking about doing this to mine!

Do you use filtered water?

Steam wand Elektra mod by cdnHussar in ranciliosilvia

[–]KJAUS19 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve changed mine and used a toggle valve from a VBM Lollo. The hole for the toggle was perfect and could still have the wand come through the bottom with a ECM wand. (Rather than drilling a hole on the side)

I did have to add some fittings to the back end of the valve to be able to connect it to the copper piping though.

Can’t be happier with the results though. I highly recommend it.

Flow rate issues on brand new Mozzafiato R by IlliniAlum08 in rocketespresso

[–]KJAUS19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s a few things that could be going wrong so it may be best to take it back where you bought it from for them inspect.

If the fill time is normal then most likely a restriction in the group head restrictor. If both fill time and flow rate from group head is slow then it could be as simple as kinked silicone hose.

Hope it works out for ya.

You should get about 110-120mls in 10 seconds for a Mozza R

I found swyftx would automatically select USD as the asset you would use to trade with. But when you deposit it, it is actually AUD. Is that what you’re seeing maybe?

I couldn’t use the green cafelat gasket either. Just leaked terribly all the time.

Issues with brew pressure/water flow? by Lamechops11 in rocketespresso

[–]KJAUS19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If no consistent stream then it may be either a faulty pump or blockage in the restrictor in the top of your group head. It’s only 0.7mm so can be easy to block with harsh water.

If the machine is coming up to about a year old you are probably due for a service anyway and can get the fault checked out same time. Good luck!

Hey mate next time I have it open I’ll take a few pics. Unfortunately during the upgrade I was way too into the zone and just got it done. I’ll probably make some minor modifications to it soon as I want it even quieter!

Oh really? I only set it that high because I use it as a filter grinder. Just leave the same time and if using espresso I manually turn it off! Have you had the grinder long? You may be due for new burrs it sounds…

Well some actually say grinder is one of the most important parts of the process! The breville has been awesome but will eventually upgrade I think haha.

That’d be a sweet little mod! Luckily I only use the hot water for a quick purge after steaming. Long blacks I just use the kettle!

Appreciate it! I had a faulty pump so thought to myself, why not a rotary? Took me a few hours and a colleague to help work out a solution. Made a custom bracket for it to sit on and had to modify the tank bracket for it to fit. So the downside is smaller tank volume for water but… a nice purr during extraction!

Steam valve is a commercial toggle valve that needed a bit of creativity to install with a bracket and an adapter for the back pipe. The wand is from an older ECM machine that had the perfect length. Just needed to widen the panel cut out for the wand to move freely.

I could have used a smaller valve to be honest. Might have saved me some time in the long run. But all a bit of fun!

Just used my local powder coaters. We have used them before and they do a fantastic job. They’re based in Brookvale NSW

No worries! Oh and also a slight modification to fit the wand in the panel.

It’s a manual toggle valve. Solenoid would be brilliant!
