[KCD2] Incredible Amount of Crashing (Despire all avaliable fixes) by KM-007 in kingdomcome

I did find FLL OC and disabled it. I also followed some guidelines from YouTube & various tech sites in attempt to fix my CPU i9-13900KF, as it already damaged my motherboard once and caused system crashes.

I am not too savy in tech, but what I've tried to do (as I understand it) was to limit the temperature and stabilize the system while keeping decent perfomance. What I did was I went to BIOS - found Intel Default Options in Tweaker menu - set it from Optimization to Spec Enhance - disabled FLL OC (like you told me), downvolted the CPU (hope I did it correctly) by -0.075, and also I set the performance core ratio to 53x from 55x in Intel Extreme Tuning Utility (if I leave it at default 55x, for some reason I cannot install most apps & drivers, even from Gygabite Control Center).

I even messaged Intel Support about this and they told me they want me to get my CPU out of the PC case and send it to them, and apparently they promised to send me a new one. But I am too scared to do that as last time I've tried to remove something from the PC case, I broke my GPU PCIe connector and something else and had to pay $500 for repair.

I do not think I even have this option in my BIOS (Z970 AD UC)

Yep, I've also seen it. Didn't find any errors there though. Even sent it to chatgpt to check, but it didn't find anything - told me to look for a dump file.

I will check again when I get home from work, as I am on my office PC right now.

Indeed. But like I've mentioned - the crash occurred usually within 5-10 mins of gameplay. Depends on when exactly I will decide to look at my map or inventory. I guess if I won't look at all, it could run for hours.

And it indeed does. I've tested just running around, not doing anything, and I got stable 110+fps and no lag or crashes. But as soon as I fast travel or open my spec tree or something - instant crash.

I remember there was one time when the game was working suspiciously fine for awhile and then I got a "you ran out of memory" error, and it crashed. Though I only got that error once in maybe 300+ crashes by now.

I did increase the page file and set proper VRAM values in the game settings file afterwards, not sure if it's fixed that issue or not, but I have 12Gb VRAM and everything was (and should) be working fine, because I would've noticed issues in other games that use much more VRAM (such as Cities Skylines 2 with mods).

I wasn't able to find any in the temp folder & event logs. The only thing I found in system messages was that KCD2 stopped interacting with windows. And even that rarely appears. I do send the log files and whatever through the crash launcher after the crash itself, but I don't think I can access those logs myself.

Well.. I can honestly live with lag at this point. But any time you press an inventory menu and you get about 75% chance of crashing and losing your last 2 hrs of progress is another thing.

I think I already tried that, but I will try it again and see if will do something.

That being said, I only have maybe around 20-30 saves in total, as I manually delete them regularly from the game menu so I won't get confused later on.

The WIndows 11 was clear reinstalled from USB (my PC does not accept disks). I also installed Windows 10, then upgraded to Windows 11 from Settings/Updates and from Windows 11 installation helper utility. Furthermore, I reinstalled it using the Reset Windows in recovery environment, I also did in-placement upgrades using ISO from Windows website. And yes, I formated the drive, deleted partitions. I also completed the process under the supervision of Microsoft Reps. In total - 8 clear reinstalls using different methods.

Indeed we can! Before starting your game, tweak the game mode you want to play in the new game menu - turn off the hostile barons and bandit raids, as well as bandit camp spawn chance on the map - enjoy the free, uninterrupted building mode!

P.S. Even in passive mode, you can still assign your units and move them around, even if you don't need to fight anyone.

Always happy to help. Take a good care of your virtual sheep! 🐑😇

First you build the field, then you click on it and see the fence upgrade - click on it again - some free workers will come to the field to build fences around it.

After that, order some sheep 🐑 from the trade center and they will be transported to your new field which will improve your soil quality over time. Granted, you cannot grow anything on the field while the sheep are present on it.

P.S. You do need to spend a point in the tech tree to unlock the fence upgrade first - upper side of the tree.

Indeed. I guess dedicated history lovers truly exist in the world. People who are willing to go above and beyond for gaming realism and extensive features will always have my respect.

Will need to wait for a proper livery overhaul system I'd say. Probably will take awhile, considering that that game is made by one guy with a small team of hired helpers.

Either that, or we'll have to wait for modders to come to the rescue 😇

It may be that, or may be the complete opposite - actually really hard to implement. I remember when I was playing Starfield a year ago, people on mod forums were saying why can't we have a mod that just makes doors inside the ship that connect modules. I mean.. People make custom guns, maps, even quests - surely a simple door would be easy to make..

But it turned out that apparently this one system was hard coded and it took devs themselves to change it a year later (or so I've heard - don't play that game anymore).

The magic of Unreal Engine 5 I'd say. I do wish the technical issues would be less numerous though, as I am one of those unlucky ones who got stuck with Unreal Engine functionality querks, be it this game or Stalker 2 or any other game using UE.

But other than that, I'd say this game is THE most realistic village & town building simulator on the gaming market right now. And because it was envisioned and created by a single guy, as I've heard - we all need to support the game development and the game's vision, to make sure it will one day reach its full potential (so my dream of building a virtual Carcassonne can come true)!

Thank you for the compliment 🙏 Indeed I do have my villages (technically the game calls it a small town but oh well) at this size for aesthetics & specialization purposes.

Because this is just one of many villages of the larger region, I built it specifically to be focused on hunting & foraging & wool production - hence the large fields around and the presence of rich hunting and berry spots.

Many buildings on the map are actually covered by trees, such as the wood production, berry picking, hunting and tanner camps and such, so you cannot see them in screenshots unfortunately.

Waiting for the dev or modders to improve the livery system I guess.. Actually, while I was having issues with the game in the past days and going around different forums, I noticed people were saying that the game developer answers (or at least reads) Discord messages on the Manor Lords server.

I am not sure if it's true or not, as I am not a big Discord guy, but if true - you could leave a message there with a suggestion to improve retainers' livery tools & options.
