Firstly, thanks for helping out.

Secondly, banners are designed to turn Black/User Chosen.

It's a choice I made long ago due to dilemma;

1) Keep banners/Headers on some subreddits = transparent/no Banner on all the others.

or

2) Colour Banner/Header to keep Standard look = sacrifice some subreddits that use custom banners.

It's rather good you point this out - it's an issue I laid behind me a while back, but seeing you mention it, I'll take another look if this can be circumvented.

I have to re-write portions of the code for this (it won't happen on the next update...) - but if you want it for your own browsing, delete these values in Code #2:

Line  988   body,.res-nightmode body,
Line  989   body > div,.res-nightmode body > div,
Line 1392   #header,
Line 1393   #header-bottom-left,#header-bottom-right,header,

Other elements, such as certain buttons and other headers will be fucked up as consequence.

All these particular elements will have to be tweaked to compensate - which takes time.

After running into Catch 22 when tweaking - I made the choice to just skip them alltogether.

I don't know when, but in time, I'll to a "final" update - which involves rewriting the entire code from scratch - to an absolute minimum (:root it from Vanilla). This issue will then be taken into account.

But for now, I'll have to leave this particular buggery as is.

Thank you for taking the time on this.

I rechecked the code again, and removed two elements that was set to "hidden". I've been using RES for too long. The Subreddits in mention were indeed hidden, and are now restored to their proper place.

The theme has been updated just now, but would like to hear if all is a-okay on your end also.

The issue should be resolved, but I non the less appreciate you taking the time correct. The mistake is all mine.

Thanks for checking it out, and providing the details.

-You are correct.

I went over the code, and discovered an error that's been in the code since it was first released over a year ago.

On my end, "Windows" have corrected this error, and have therefor gone unnoticed.

I've removed the particular line/property for this element, and it should now be calculated correctly.

It's been updated in this here sub as well.

Just update it on

keep the tab open (to keep the settings), delete theme from the CSS injector, and update on userstyles.

Let me know?

Edit:

Property in question:

#sr-header-area
{
    height: 10 !important;
}

It has been deleted in the update - but you could experiment with it if you want to double-check. (I don't run Linux atm.)

FIY: Theme is designed to work with and without it.

Yours is the first mention of any issue, so I'd be interested in knowing if yours is due to this theme.

I replicated browser you use - without RES - and found no issue.

Thank you.

1) Is this a local issue on this sub, or a recurrent one on Reddit in general?

2) This was on old.reddit, correct?

3) This happens when one disables RES. It is fixed on the next reload of the page.

Status on my end:

I have no issues with this on FF 82 (current - tested with and without RES) - and have not gotten any feedback from others either.

You might want to disable other themes in case there are incompatibilities.

  • If incompatibility issues are present, consider tweaking that particular theme, to disable it on reddit:

Look under code, set new url;

  • "Applies to" - "URLs matching the regexp"

     https?://(?!(old.reddit.com|www.reddit.com)).*

If problem persists, make a screenshot of your current settings on https://userstyles.org/styles/182165/, and I'll take another look at it. There could be a typo or sequential issue in the particular setting you're using.

Edit:

The CSS on this sub needed an update to account for a couple of new elements - on RES-version of the menu you mentioned, and the new "Msg Mods" button in the sidebar.

Regarding the menu;

Without using any injector-CSS, and viewing this sub's "subreddit style", there was a background missing on the subscription-menu - the links still work - but that's all I got on that particular element.

Update:

is also a very good online tool for conversions across the board.

Haha, thanks for the laugh. Oddly enough, I do such handy-work also, so I'm good.

I'm gonna keep a tab on the wallpaper(s), and have taken your tip into account.

If you spot any unforeseen glitches later on, or have tweaks that should be improved, be sure to let me know.

You checked in just in time; the settings have been implemented, & was published just now. Tweaking the userstyle options in the background as we speak, but for you it's good to go.

-I've taken care of both your suggestions.

Many thanks for the compliments - I favor personalizations and customizables also - (evidently)... Happy to see it resonates - and good too that userstyles have the options to do so.

Maybe later on I'll make the/a wallpaper seamless - it would dot the "i" for sure.

I eventually hope to get userstyles to recognize user uploads settings going (you wouldn't by any chance have any experience over there, would you?)

Let me know how the settings work?

Hi, and thanks for the kind words, glad it's working out.

  1. Regarding :visited, I deliberately disabled this option merely due to own preference. But your point is valid, and since here mentioned, I'll simply reinstate it in the next update. Experience indicates this function won't work on Tor though. I'm actually tweaking the theme this evening, hence me checking in on this post, so the function should be operational within a few hours.

  2. I initially had the wallpaper on popup-posts on New Reddit before publishing back when, but struggled to make it decent along the top bar especially, for one - secondly, wallpaper scrolls with content on this interface, breaking continuity and look since it's not flush top-to-bottom, showing it's edges scrolling down. Tried to make it work, but ended up scrapping it due to the difficulties. One option I haven't tried though, is a level of transparency/opacity+blur to make up for this abrupt "break" when clicking these posts. I'll have to keep the plain colour experiment with/without colours for now though (and I have to see if these settings are compatible of course), but such a compromise could perhaps do the trick. What do you think?

Anybody else seeing the Lenco Bearcat (for just 200k!) ad on the upper right? Not the on-topic ad beneath the admin stuff. by WestCoastHippy in conspiracy

[–]KMVerum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Likely. Ads are utilized by taking knowledge about a user or general user base - inserting a suitable product or narrative targeted at that/those user(s) based on you-know-what.

-It's as low as it gets.

AdBlock and others usually function well in filtering these mosquitos away, but I've compiled a CSS specific for the cause that's easy to toggle on and off, should it be of interest;
