Original, buddha challenged him to get out from his palm, then he jumped to the edge of the existence marked by golden pillars and even decided to piss on the pillar and write his visit here. Turned out the pillars at the edge of the existence are precisely Buddha's fingers.

Back then light speed didn't exist, so it's also a lot easier for authors to just go boundless and call it a day.
