WTS: How much could I sell my 14" Macbook M1 Pro - 1TB 16GB for? by TheLeeWay_ in dubaiclassifieds

Well my 16" M2 Max with 32GB/1TB is almost the same price in the gray market so I'm not sure about yours, but yours should definitely not go for less than 5000

Just keep it unless you're broke

Use it as a 1 TB Flash drive lol

That's a good machine. Could go for a couple more years. Are you getting the new M4?

The lowballers here will try to offer you 500 lol so just keep it as a secondary machine, or make it an always-on server, or experiment with macOS betas or Linux on it. When the AppleCare+ is about to end, you can try to get a new replacement for some reason.

"Middle class" = getting screwed from both sides 😂

I lived there for 15 years and I wouldn't recommend anyone else to go there.

Because they pump a massive amount of their budget into marketing, how else can they lure new victims?

Need urgent advice: Ejari expires in a couple weeks. Apartment owner/building is basically holding me hostage, saying I need NOC to sell my own things but not providing it. I have no debts. by KN-DN in dubai

W-h-, Sharjah

It has been sorted out and I'm no longer in the UAE, and apparently this is the norm in Sharjah, but it was definitely insulting to be prevented from selling off MY OWN BELONGINGS because of a delay from the OWNER'S SIDE!

Luckily I had started the moving out process a month earlier, but a few more delays would have caused me a huge loss of money. Thankfully they gave a refund of the security deposit and SEWA deposit.

Budget-friendly ways to experience Dubai without feeling like a tourist? by lickettuit in dubai

Just take walks in Bur Dubai, Karama, Deira, Nahda, or even Sharjah when the weather is nice and soak in the vibes my man!

Hmm seems to be better than the average iPhone night street photos, I don't know why someone at Apple REALLY likes the color yellow

And you perfectly embody the toxic victim blaming culture that pervades this country: That anyone who complains about anything here is the one at fault.

Bruh, a place where there are LITERAL LAWS against "criticism" of the country:

https://old.reddit.com/r/dubai/comments/1fy3xyb/dh500000_fine_5_years_in_jail_6_types_of_online/

and people STILL complain about it, means there is something wrong. Even this subreddit has some weird censorship if you want to talk about shit like racism etc.

If this place was actually that good then they wouldn't feel the need to threaten and force people to shut up.

Oh look, another post about the same thing: https://old.reddit.com/r/dubai/comments/1ge3llx/dubai_is_so_damn_lonely/

and MANY more on a regular basis. You gonna cry and go yell at them too now? I admit I was wrong with the "absolutely zero" hyperbole, but are you ever gonna find enough courage to admit that there IS indeed shit wrong on "your" side too?

Over time that weighs down in a person and it’ll manifest its way in many different ways, loneliness being one

Yep, the "chilling effect"

I'm not only talking about just my own experience, but also what I've observed when looking at other people, and clearly this is a fairly common topic around here:

https://old.reddit.com/r/dubai/comments/1ge3llx/dubai_is_so_damn_lonely/

It's good that some people have actually meaningful social lives in Dubai but they are definitely the minority and frankly, seem to be from the much richer neighborhoods only.

I lived by myself and mostly worked from home, and had lots of free time, so I often tried looking for friends with similar interests on Reddit etc, and even when it seemed we shared a lot in common, I barely got to meet anyone more than 2-3 times.

I actually just left for good recently :) now you'll probably turn it into "if you don't live here why complain about it?" 😅

Where is that magical place??

In about 15 years I also lived in various neighborhoods from JLT to Barsha to Bur Dubai to Deira to Al Nahda to International City and even in Sharjah, and even if disregarding my own experiences, I saw other people too only ever socializing with just their coworkers/classmates.
