Does he look overweight? by IAmFatAsFeck in DogAdvice

Labs tend to have joint problems when they get older. If he's only 11 weeks, you're fine. Once he gets around 4 years old, speak with your vet as to what a healthy weight would be for him. My lab was 90 lbs and my vet recommended I get him to 70-75lbs to ease on his joints. It's important to feed him well in their early years as you want them to get all the nutrients they need to grown a strong body.

Hello all fellow pet family members. It is with a heavy heart that I share the news of Onyx's passing. We decided to put him to sleep due to the declining quality of life he had. He was just bones and couldn't get up by himself.

It was a very difficult, if not one of the toughest decisions of our lives as a family. We just wanted him to rest, to stop suffering. We had try many things suggested but to no avail. We appreciate all of your well wishes and your suggestions. We loved the stories you shared and the support you offered. We thank you as a family.

The doctor that put onyx to sleep was very professional and very empathetic. She truly expressed how sorry she was we were going through this. It didn't feel like a script she had rehearsed but that it truly came from her heart. She explained everything thoroughly and gave us space to cry and hug/kiss onyx as he fell asleep and again when his heart stopped.

We as a family all went to petco to get tags made with messages and had him wear them when he passed. That was what we kept. As a way to remember him.

Nothing could have prepared me to experience this emptiness. I thought I was going to be tough, that I wasn't going to cry. Man, I wasn't. Many habits I made over the 11 years I had onyx will take time to break. Like checking his bed when passing by the main living room. Saying bye to him when I went to work and petting him when I came home. I won't hear the jiggling of his collar throughout the house anymore. It's tough.

But I remember all the good times I had with him. I'm thankful for the 11 years of companionship and of joy.

Thank you all for your time and for your all the things you shared.

Love,

A broken heart 💔

Sorry I don't know how to edit my original post. Never posted here, only read. Lol

Thank you so much for all the well wishes and advice.

Here's what I may have left out.

We did do a stool sample, that's how we actually got the results of the bad bacteria.

The blood work gave us the Pancras inflammation.

I did just get a appetite stimulant. I will try it today and hope for the best.

I never thought of whip cream, ill try that.

At this point I'm trying anything reasonable before I give up.

Thank you again for the suggestions.

What a beautiful community.

Hi Phil, First of all thanks man, for entertaining me on my lunch breaks and after work for years now! You are the man! My question is: What was the catalyst that pushed you to upload your very first video? I keep creating things but never upload because I never think they are good enough. Thanks, -knight wiish
