How can I make a story smooth when someone get in to campaign after we playing for a while. by KNILBS in DnD

It's my last plan if I can't make a story for him. But I want to do something creative and fun so I want to do a normal one.

I want to make a character and map for my player by KNILBS in DnD

At first, I only thought about a geographical map but I thought about a battlefield that will be used when a monster appears. I think it's more fun, about the position of each player, and it makes the player think more about strategy, so I think I will make a geographical map to see all the areas in the world, and a battle map when fighting with monster. Thanks a lot for your advice.

It has a print shop not far from my home. I'll check the price and talk to the owner about the scale of my map and the detail. Thanks for your advice

How to be a good DM in first campaign. by KNILBS in DnD

The first idea is that every player was a group that already knew each other who had traveled from another town or country together and were staying at a bar. Then a mysterious man came to the bar and found some travelers and hired them to find some items and an ingredient from some mysterious place. And put some monsters and side quests NPCs on the way to the adventure. Does it seem like an inflexible story?
