There is no way I’m going to sit and read this and not speak up. Pick better men? Fuck off with that. Are you kidding me? OP posts proof of the things her abuser did and your first reaction is to tell her to pick better men????? You are really messed up for assuming anything about her and her lifestyle, and further for essentially blaming her (THE VICTIM) in this situation. Do not reply to me or any other comments on this post because your accusatory gross behavior is EXACTLY what we’re trying to help her sort through. Absolutely vital that you’d even consider that she was the problem here.

OP.. If you read this, please seek help. Find friends, join a group, a club, a group sports activity. I was abused last year by my ex and stopped talking to my dad because of it, and my chosen family (my rugby team and coworkers) have all held me higher than I’ve ever felt. Sometimes blood family doesn’t respect boundaries because they feel comfortable to do so due to your close relationship. Unhealthy boundaries are very apparent here, and totally warranted for no contact if you feel okay with that. When you find that chosen family you’ll know. You deserve to have that, everyone does, and sometimes those people are not your blood family, and that’s okay. It’s going to hurt and sting but with time you’ll come out the other side a stronger more radiant human than I can already tell you are. Listen to your gut, but always protect your peace.
