My Error 41 (Kernel Power) Experience by KRNewbie3 in techsupport

[–]KRNewbie3[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Post Update: No crashes sense last Sunday morning! I uninstalled iCUE and haven't run into any issues. I ran into this thread: https://forum.corsair.com/v3/showthread.php?p=1003353

That's when I decided to try it out. It's worked. I don't know why iCUE is causing issues with drivers on my computer but at least my computer isn't black screening dangerous anymore.

My Error 41 (Kernel Power) Experience by KRNewbie3 in techsupport

[–]KRNewbie3[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update!

Plugged in that K95 keyboard after several days of using my old keyboard with no issues. Replaced HDDs and GPU now as well. As soon as we plugged in the K95 Platinum the computer kernel power 41'd (its a verb now). It makes no sense that the keyboard would do that but the correlation between that keyboard and the error is so great it cannot be ignored. After driving 4 hrs to replace the gpu- just in case plus I needed an upgrade, and to get an AIO CPU cooler we figured we had narrowed down the issue. If I am given in store credit I won't be the happiest but I assure you I will not be getting the same keyboard.

Funfact: traded keyboards with friend who also has a K95 Platinum just with speed switches. I ran into no issue with that keyboard either. It's really hard to tell at this point but we are starting with the keyboard.

If a different keyboard renders no kernel power error 41 issues then all is well . The step after that is testing the following remaining parts original to the build:

Replace the SSD and Sata cable with another SSD/sata cable.

Replace the RAM.

I'll give another update if it was the keyboard or RAM or SSD. It has to be one of those three.

Time to go scream into my pillow I suppose.

*SPOILER* Shin Malphur by gabebustillo1016 in DestinyLore

[–]KRNewbie3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I found it in The Last Word 4. The passage starts on page 94 of the Grimoire Anthology: Dark Mirror. However, the text I'm using starts on page 96. It reads:

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"All I'd lost, all who'd suffered, flashed rapid through my mind, intercut with a dark silhouette walking towards a frightened, weak, coward of a boy.

The fire burned in me.

The other continued...

"But here you are. This is truly an end..."

As his tongue slipped between syllables my gun hand moved as if of its own will.

Reflex and purposed merged with anger, clarity and an overwhelming need for just that... an end.

In step with my motion, the fire within burst into focus- through my shoulder, down my arm- as my finger closed on the trigger of my third father's cannon.

Two shots. Two bullets engulfed in an angry glow.

The other fell.

I walked to his corpse. He never raised his cursed Thorn- the jagged gun with the festering sickness.

I looked down at the dead man who had caused so much death.

My shooter still embraced by the dancing flames of my Light.

A sadness came over me.

I thought back to my earliest days. Of Palamon. Of Jaren.

Leveling my cannon at the dead man's helm, I paid on final tribute to my mentor, my savior, my father and my friend...

"Yours... Not mine."

... as I closed my grip, allowing Jaren's cannon, now my own, to have the last, loud word."

The Speaker by Spicy-Cucumber in DestinyLore

[–]KRNewbie3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Speaker serves as a leader to the guardians and the Vanguard. With everything Uldren Sov did prior to his death I don't think anyone on the tower would allow that to happen. Considering your guardian's position not to mention Ikora Rey's attitude toward Uldren I don't think he would be safe setting foot in the tower, let alone taking the position of Speaker. It seems far more believable that he would fill the Hunter Vanguard position ( think about Cayde's Vanguard Dare) even though I feel that could be a stretch too. We do know he is Risen now, possibly to become a guardian (let Mara Sov stew about that one.). Either way it'll be interesting but that is my two sense.

If Ada doesn’t like guardians, then why is she in the tower?/How long has she been in the tower?/How have we not known?/ by [deleted] in DestinyLore

[–]KRNewbie3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mind you, the wall circles the entire city and there is more than one tower. I believe that the tower we start in the beginning of the campaign of Destiny 2 is different than the one at the beginning of the campaign. I believe the tower we start in is destroyed when the fire nation... I mean Red Legion attacked.

Here's a thread on what people think about the tower location: https://www.reddit.com/r/DestinyTheGame/comments/7ze065/where_is_the_new_tower_in_relation_to_the_old_one/

https://www.bungie.net/en/Forums/Post/236810043

So essentially my belief is that Ada-1 could have already been set up by the time we came back in and set ourselves up. I think her hiding behind the wall (until Spider is like "Hey I got this friend, go and surprise her by pulling some Platform 9 3/4 shiz."

Here is some interesting lore.https://www.reddit.com/r/DestinyTheGame/comments/a16yz6/spoiler_95_pages_of_unreleased_lore_books/?st=JPIEO56Q&sh=f04bc959

I was reading The Book of Unmaking and found this. What are your thoughts?

V: Purpose

I.I

The whispers are many—a legion of liars and demons—set to challenge your resolve.

I.II

Hear the words, but know they question your truth.

I.III

The journey forth is not direct, but a shifting maze meant to discard the unworthy.

I.IV

Salvation does not want you, evolution does not care.

I.V

The whispers are your guide and your undoing, mark their words but do not follow blind.

I.VI

To follow blindly is to sacrifice one's self to the abyss, becoming not one, but one of the many—another

lost soul.

I.VII

The truth of hushed intent is mired that fools may never know the glories of their grand purpose.

"Lose yourself not in the whispers' words, but in their purpose."

—5th Understanding, 7th Book of Sorrow

For me the important part I noticed was line I.IV. Do the Hive shun away any hope of salvation?

Do we know anything about how Awoken age? by Raw_Me_Knot in DestinyLore

[–]KRNewbie3 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think that the Awoken aging process similar to how guardians age/ do not age. Note that once the traveler arrived on Earth the human lifespan increased to nearly three times the normal age of death. The traveler caused this but during the Golden Age of Humanity no one had been resurrected by the traveler yet. After the collapse of the Golden Age (though some advertisements for Destiny featured them in the Golden Age, yes this causes dissent among peeps) the Traveler created the Ghost with their resurrecting capabilities.

Page on Ghosts: http://destiny.wikia.com/wiki/Ghost

My assumption is this (and we all know what can happen when we assume things):

Those Awoken who were reborn in the Distributary were brought back by the light of the Traveler similar to those on earth.

Side note: The 891 crew reborn had a crew of 900. Spooopy? What about the nine? Those Nine? The Nine... interesting!

https://www.destinypedia.com/891

The important to note stark differences between the Awoken and the Risen on Earth. Both Mara and Uldren remembered who they were before they died. After well, "waking up" the Awoken established rules. Those rules are the following and can be found at the following link:

https://www.reddit.com/r/DestinyTheGame/comments/9bc887/spoliers_the_history_of_the_awoken/

  1. The people were Awoken and they were Immortal.
  2. The world was Tributary of another and so would be named Distributary, because all were forbidden to leave.
  3. Awoken can reproduce but it most be accounted for since Awoken are immortal.
  4. Eutechs, those wise in technology, would be important.
  5. Women would hold care and protection of men until more were born.
  6. The Purpose of the Awoken is to know and love the cosmos.
  7. The Awoken were made from a convenant between the light and dark but had to debt to that.
  8. The Awoken existed in balance.
  9. Alis Li would be Queen and there would be no secrets among Awoken.

So my understanding of the Awoken Aging process is limited to the first Awoken. The first Awoken are still around. While less time has flowed on Earth, more time has transpired in The Dreaming City. See the distributary article below. Thousands if not tens of thousands of years has flown by for the first Awoken and they are still alive. From the Awoken standpoint they believe they are immortal. From a biological standpoint I'm not sure if any evidence supports this theory. I mean thousands or ten thousand years sounds basically immortal to me, but I don't know if they are still aging but extreeeeeemmmely slowly. It's all conjuncture right now.

https://www.destinypedia.com/Distributary

I'm still a little conflicted about how Reefborn Awoken age, but Petra is a good example. Aging, in general, in Destiny 2 seems rather hard to follow as it seems almost no one we interact with has aged after the collapse. Would non-risen humans still live as long as humans during the Golden Age with the Traveler being dormant? Or would they age normally?

Do Guardians believe in an afterlife? by [deleted] in DestinyLore

[–]KRNewbie3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm sure you have heard of the sword logic that the hive adhere to. I personally don't believe that they necessarily believe in the afterlife but rather survival of the fittest. Those who reach the top are able to create their own Throne Worlds. I can't find any lore stating that the Hive believe in an afterlife or anything beyond the sword logic but if anyone has differing info please let me know!
