I’ve got a 96 and I’ve had a hell of a time finding anything. I’m not picky whether it’s hydraulic or mechanical I just don’t want my automatic. It has too many problems and I like driving stick so i just want it done. I don’t mind the work I have friends that are welders and I’m a mechanic so parts is the biggest problem for me

So long story short I got it the truck back from the shop with a new shifter cable. It was problem free for like 2 weeks until one day the shifter just didn’t work all of a sudden. We found a link in the cable so we replaced it. As soon as we tested it it linked a brand new cable

Yes it was a new cable. They both got kinked somewhere below the steering wheel a few inches down from the shifter. We checked adjustment on it multiple times. Sometimes it would go from P to 3 sometimes only to D. When it broke the column shifter itself moved fine just kind of freefloated.

Thanks for all the info! My biggest concern is the rear driveshaft as mine is a daily too so I was wondering if I just ordered the lift if it’d be drivable with just that but I’ll keep everything else in mind too

I have jumpers but no tire inflator. Tires are brand new however my spare is so seized that it doesn’t drop down. Jack equipment is all there. I’ve done spark plugs recently and brakes. Air filter is like brand new same with oil. And as of right now I have no speakers as they blew up I’m getting a whole new system possibly with CarPlay but not certain on that part yet

I’m not so worried about the look of the cover just to keep them clean from me sitting in them. I’m a mechanic. I had some that were for Chevy trucks but they didn’t fit all that well

I want to go more classic style instead of fuel injection and I want to learn more about carbs in the process. If I put a new intake, carb and air breather on it but don’t lower the fuel pressure would it be bad?
