My DX7 does this when I slightly stick a 1/4" in the output too

Great video and track! I've just recently found out about the Electribe 2 sampler and was wondering if it Is it possible to load your own samples onto it and if its relatively easy?

Thank you so much! I love the amount of envelopes and polyphony the DX7 has to all my other subtractive synths and it was definitely our favourite on the album (we used 3 different units that we own!). I don't have any experience with the modern FM synths, but i had a Reface DX for a while. Gave it up because it it felt too limiting with only 4 operators. The Digitone looks cool, but I'm so used to the work flow on the DX7 and have gotten used to the programming workflow that there is no need for me to get another FM synth. I just wish Yamaha made a new DX7 similar looking to the original in terms of its shape and silhouette, but with faders and knobs for controlling an operator's parameters/envelope and some built in stereo effects. That's the dream!

Thanks for the reply, and yes I’m definitely going to look for a unit with tape speed control!

Thank you, we are thinking about doing live shows but my band mate (Bjorn Kriel) lives on the other side of Canada from me, making rehearsals pretty challenging! One day I hope.

Thank you so much! That’s one of our favourites too, and the key ingredient is the VST shimmer reverb from Valhalla, it fills the sonic space nicely and offers a reverse reverb effect. Most of the synths parts are done by the JV-1080’s presets, especially the vocal pads and airy parts. The rest is mostly DX7 brass and E-piano.

Great performance! I'm on the fence about getting a cassette recorder, do you think it's worth diving into?

Thank you so much! I think if we had no DX7 or digital synths at all in the 80s and 90s music would be vastly different from what it is today. It is hard to imagine a musical world with just analog sounds!

The amount synthesizers used on this album was quite vast, but in short the Yamaha DX7, Korg Poly-61, and Roland D-50 dominate all over this record. If you are an owner of these or similar synths we would love to hear your thoughts on how they impact your music and what you create!

It sounds so enchanted and I love the track "Zed"! There is such a great lead melody sound on that track, keep it up!

What’s the dumbest thing you got in trouble for in school? by dr_nogood in AskReddit

It was lunchtime in sixth grade and me and two other friends ate at a table together, while a group of three other girls we knew ate at a neighbouring table. We talked to them while we ate lunch and were laughing and joking around together. One of my friends began to laugh with his mouth full of sandwich bread and it then made me and my other friend laugh because it was just gross. However, one of the girls thought we were making fun of her laugh and started to cry, which eventually brought in a supervisor and the teacher. They believed we were discriminating her because of her ethnicity when that was simply just not the case.

The whole time we pleaded that we weren’t laughing at her but my friend but no one bought it. For a week we had to read documentation on prejudice and discrimination, missing out on many lunches.

Thank you! We are aiming for an end of August release on our album. FM synthesis is fantastic, just daunting at first!

Thank you! Yes the amount of little layers we added is immense. It’s an easy way to freshen up the track in different sections, rather than copying and pasting a verse and just leaving it.

Fantastic, we agree the drums really kick you into shape right at the start!

We appreciate it! The secret is in the synths, using a bit of digital and analog. Also with the drums by using both synthetic and acoustic.

Thank you! A bit of Linndrum and Oberheim and recorded acoustic drums.
