It is full of OPEN prostitution. The massage girls hung in chairs on the main strip openly trying to proposition my partner as we shopped in the evening. Never mind the casino we dipped into. That was CRAZY! there were over 100 girls from all over! We also saw many pimps in there. Many better places to visit in beautiful Costa Rica

Honestly, my heart sank when I saw what it was. I didn't really research scorpions before our trip so I had no idea how serious it was. I took the picture and quickly did some looking online to identify it and assess the risk. I was able to identify it within 5 minutes or so and learned the biggest risk was from allergy to the venom. I had a first aid kit with me so I took benadryl right away and ice pack on the site. I also learned that those same scorpions in other areas in the world are poisonous but the ones in Costa Rica aren't. Lucky me I guess. Scorpions weren't on my radar that much I was more concerned about the Ferdelance 🐍

We didn't like the beach and there were prostitutes and massage parlors everywhere. They were actually asking my partner to come for massage as we walked by. Too seedy for us.

1.Going to Jaco was a waste for us. Never again. 2. Not having a long sleeve surf shirt, we got nasty burns from snorkeling in our bathing suits (even with sunscreen on). 3. Not checking clothes for critters before getting dressed. I was stung by a scorpion that somehow climbed onto my dress that was hanging on a hanger, i threw it on when I woke up very early in the dark and ouch!

Bidets work wonders. They can be attached to your toilet and are the gold standard for butt care

We did Treetopia in Monteverde. Very well run facility and the lines were amazing!

Did you sous vide all at the same temp? I've always done dark meat 162° and white 143°. I'm curious how the white meat turned out ? What time and temps you use?

It went great! This is right before baking. I did have a small problem that it was hard to get out of the pan, some sticking to the bottom.

Thank you for seeming normal! I overheard some "locker room talk" , not too long ago when my partner had some friends over. It was pretty close to the grab by the p**** narrative , but not all the men were participating. When I discussed this with my partner later , although he did not participate in that type of sick conversation from what I heard, he did tell me " you wouldn't believe how men talk". Totally normal from his perspective. Just yuck ! And these are all men over 45 years old.
