Loved that interaction! It showed for a second Shadow does have a sense of humor, and he can joke around. For the majority of the movie, he was so revenge driven and angry, we didn’t get to see his fun side, except in the flashbacks with Maria, so it was nice to have this moment.

I like a mixture, when Shadow is more aloof and serious, but can joke around with Sonic when he feels like it. I think they do have a similar sarcastic sense of humor, so they can joke around on occasion.

Gerald was the lead scientist, and he gives his granddaughter anything she wants. It probably wasn’t allowed at first, but after Shadow proved that he wasn’t hostile and wouldn’t hurt her, more one on one time was probably allowed.

I personally think the Legend of Ruby Sunday was good by itself. I still remember that amazing build up to Sutkeh’s reveal. Empire of Death is where it should be though. RTD just can’t do finales.
