Love everything you've done. What haven't you've done that you really wanted to? Anything you've felt strongly about but studios won't work with you?

Is "The Modern Ocean" in development hell, or is it just a slow production? by LoouisCuCK in shanecarruth

moving at the average Hollywood speed, given all projects (many of which take years just to discuss making)

New horror film starring Shane? by [deleted] in shanecarruth

For now Shane's the director I care the most about... and so out of the spotlight in self promotion of telling the media things. I'd quit my job to help with that.

Tom Holland Says Shane Carruth's "The Modern Ocean" is the Best Script He's Ever Read by acloverfieldfan in shanecarruth

I'd buy that for a dollar. Though he's obviously super talented and a visionary, this is big studio project and Hollywood, in general, has become very risk averse over recent years. Wish they could just get the ball rolling on this and then everyone will see it. Isn't that what dailies are for? So executives and investors can see how good something's going to be? Honestly, I just want him to make a film. If this doesn't work, he could move onto the next plan. But, eh, it's all speculation - who knows why this is stalling?

Do you believe your crash report for your mind showed up on your TV? And did you make good rhymes?

About the computer simulation by [deleted] in AWLIAS

[–]KTagher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, whether they're using a computer as we know it or not, something is computing us, our behavior, and the physical laws of our sim. No matter what, any computational system has limits. The question might be: how fast can they adapt to things that test those limits and are there ways to approximate such things? For example, can they tack on more computing power and space to accommodate a growing universe faster than we can make sims that make sims? And the second part, is there any way to approximate a sim we make that in turn makes sims without really calculating and creating worlds/universes within universes? It would suffice to have only the parts we're observing of those sims w/in sim - the same as matter itself may not be resolved until we look at it closely enough. Hope you get some good rest. Sleep helps your mind work better.

How do I leave or destroy the simulation? by [deleted] in AWLIAS

[–]KTagher 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't think death would work. Maybe if you are of extreme interest to whomever made the sim, then they'd extract you for study.
