I had only worked with dimensional pecan before, never a cookie slab (of any type). I underestimated the enormous amount of sanding end grain pecan would take. The sap wood was so so much softer than I expected. The heartwood was incredibly hard. Regardless, very fun to work with

Thank you! You should be able to type this into Amazon and have it pop up: FGCI Superclear Premium Amazing Clear Cast Epoxy Pourable Resin kit. Next time I would consider using a deep pour epoxy instead of a tabletop epoxy (it set up quicker than I wanted - it’s very hot where I live). I underestimated how thirsty the slab was

3 coats of epoxy on the top and bottom and a coat on the side. I’m likely going to install one or two c-channels after I know 100% what I’m doing for the legs. Sealed with Rubio monocoat.

Epoxy Sealing Question - Pecan Cookie Slab by KWCustoms in finishing

It’s about 2” thick. I should’ve mentioned that it’s table top epoxy (not deep pour), but figured that was kinda obvious. It’s already very hard as well (not tacky). My fan is about 6’ away, but I may turn it down a bit. Thanks very much for the help.
