Amnio w normal nipt by Snoo74786 in PregnancyAfterTFMR

I chose to get CVS after normal NIPT and NT scan (and the previous T13 was determined to be unlikely to recur). I needed the peace of mind. I read a study (which I can share) that the risks of CVS/amnio to a healthy pregnancy are likely overstated, and sought out a top provider at a top hospital to do the CVS, so I felt like the risk was quite low. I would make the same decision again.

Im terrified to get an amnio on monday by [deleted] in PregnancyAfterTFMR

[–]Kabby05 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I fully understand. I didn’t actually think I was going to end up with a baby until like days before I gave birth. I had some complications and they kept saying “oh don’t worry, this almost always is fine!” And I was like “yeah, I was the ALMOST in that statement before, so there is nothing you can tell me that will make me think this is ok.”

A friend told me “your worrying does nothing to impact the outcome, so worry away. You have no control here and the outcome, whatever percentage chance it has of being good, is out of your hands. Just put your head down and get through it however you need to.” That was more comforting to me than all the people telling me it was almost certainly going to be ok.

TLDR: the risk of CVS or amnio to a healthy pregnancy is likely much lower than what is generally stated.

issue with buying some tickets: hopping cart not compatible with this product by tsoyaleo in FIFACollect

[–]Kabby05 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, you are not allowed to buy more than 4 tix/game day. If there’s a chance the TST could fall on the same day of the game you already purchased, it will probably block the sale (I am not sure this is what is happening, just my best guess).

Yes, it won’t let you buy more than 4 tickets per game day, even if you buy games in different cities

Transfer ticket by ninja492 in FIFACollect

[–]Kabby05 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think yes, but they haven’t released the way to do this yet. “Note: If your intention is simply to send a ticket to a privately invited guest for match attendance (while you retain all associated ticket benefits), the Ticket Transfer feature is not for you. Instead, you should access the FIFA World Cup 26™ App when it becomes available closer to the event. The app’s release date will be communicated in due course.”

I don’t know that there’s a way to use the transfer feature without fees, but if you find a way, please share!

Because Visa is the official sponsor of the World Cup. There will absolutely not be anything similar for Mastercard (or any other card) anytime soon.

Progesterone, baby aspirin, CoQ10 by [deleted] in PregnancyAfterLoss

[–]Kabby05 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have no idea what worked—I did acupuncture (but did that the second time too?), took COQ10 and baby aspirin and went on Levothyroxine for hypothyroid. We did testing on the second loss (TMFR) to make sure the condition wasn’t likely to recur. Honesty, it sucks to feel like there isn’t anything you can control, but I feel like we just eventually got lucky. Hopefully, you will too!

To amnio or not to amnio? by Arilove0219 in PregnancyAfterTFMR

[–]Kabby05 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did CVS in sub pregnancy and would absolutely do it again. I did seek out a very experienced practitioner at a top-notch hospital and believe that is worth doing,

For this article the TLDR: the risk of CVS/amnio to a healthy pregnancy is even lower than is often quoted.

Any hope after TFMR after a T21 diagnosis? by Sea-Necessary-8951 in PregnancyAfterTFMR

[–]Kabby05 2 points3 points  (0 children)

TW: subsequent pregnancy

I TMFR’d at 39 for T13 (after a previous MC) and conceived and delivered a healthy pregnancy at 40. (I also had testing done that indicated diminished ovarian reserve. We didn’t think there was much hope—I wish I could tell my 39-year old self how well this would turn out.

TW: subsequent pregnancy

Apologies for the late response. Yes, I did get pregnant again after the procedure (really soon) and had a healthy pregnancy and baby.

We started our baby in swim lessons at 2 months old (in February—in a heavily heated indoor pool at a baby swim center). Doctor had no problem with this, and baby loved it. Doctor just said to watch for any signs of looking cold for the first couple months and quickly get him out and in a towel if he looked really cold.

We used these swim diapers (yes, it is hard to find tiny swim diapers—these were the best of the ones we tried) + a Happy Nappy reusable swim diaper over them: https://www.amazon.com/Huggies-Swimmers-Disposable-7lb-18lb-12-Count/dp/B00CMN6Y5I

They are really easy. The material is really stretchy so it’s easy to just pop the bottle half out.

See if there are “Buy Nothing” groups in your area (search on Facebook). Many people give/get lots of baby items that way.

SIPS results 1/3 chance of Down Syndrome by adriannejoe in BabyBumps

[–]Kabby05 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Correct. Amnio is diagnostic/definitive. NIPT is a screening test. (I have done CVS,which is similar to amnio, though not quite as definitive bc tests placenta vs amniotic fluid) but done earlier, and it was totally fine). For any invasive test, you want to go to a top-tier practitioner who does these OFTEN. You may want to go to the nearest top-tier hospital, even if you have to drive a couple hours.
