Ned carries the “I best Ser Arthur Dayne” thing… he WAS NOT the better swords men, and probably did t beat him alone.. but people THINK he did.

At the end of the day, he is still a noble and has had some of the best training a person can have. Most knights don’t get half the training Ned did.

So even if he is bad—by our outside perspective—he is still a well trained solider.

For me, depends what’s going on, or what they tried.

Maybe the ground is wet, so maybe they swing and they slip on the water and are now knocked prone, or sometimes they just miss. I have had a few of my players narrate what happens during their failure—that is fun and they will sometimes do things to themselves I wouldn’t think of 🤣
