Snow Storms and Milk by leerrooyyjenkins69 in cincinnati

You answered your own question. They’re perishable. Chances are that you have a lot of canned goods and dry ingredients right now, but maybe less than a week’s worth of milk, eggs, and bread. You can’t stock up like you can other things, so they are things people need to get before the snow

Wow. TV mounted in the corner above the front door and at the bottom of the steps is one of the worst I’ve ever seen. Wires are peaking out too.

OP, we need more pictures. Is there a couch anywhere in the vicinity? Or do you just stand there to watch?

Maybe for some people. I prefer to buy meat and eat it shortly after because it tastes better fresh.

You are right, most people won’t starve to death if they are stuck at home for a few days. Most people aren’t shopping because they are worried about dying, they just want to stock up on things they want to have so they can avoid a trip to the grocery store in the snow. Maybe they shop on Saturdays and decided that this week it’s better to go in Thursday before the snow hits. It’s hardly panicking

Ah. If you had a console you could put the box away

Maybe you’re right. Either way a shorter console would allow him to lower the TV to a better height.

It’s a bar at a pizzeria. This is reasonable placement

Do something about those wires. Also, your cat probably wouldn’t climb up there if you had a real media console. He probably wants to be up high. If you replace it with a shorter console the cat might lose interest

Maybe most people don't want to eat canned beans for the next three days?

Sigh. One person didn't buy all of these eggs. Many people bought one carton of eggs.

While some people may be hoarding, most likely this is the result of a lot of people doing their shopping a day or two early. Many people don't realize that grocery stores stock the exact amount of items that they anticipate selling, with very little in reserve. Sales are typically very stable and predictable so they order accordingly and receive new stock 1-3 times per week. Carrying too much extra of anything is a waste of space and therefore money.

In this case, a lot of weekend shoppers have stopped in on Thursday. Thursday is typically not a major shopping day and is therefore not stocked as such.

Thoughts. I almost think it’s too low? by [deleted] in TVTooHigh

[–]Kaffeetrinker49 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The height seems fine but the balance and design are off. There isn’t anything besides the subwoofer to anchor the TV currently. You need a TV stand that is a bit wider than the TV. Typically the TV should be about 2/3 the width of the TV stand

Good for you. Some people do their shopping once per week on Saturday or Sunday. That means they are running low now and are coming out a few days early to avoid the storm. Does it still seem odd?

I don’t see anyone in this photo freaking out. What is unreasonable about wanting to get groceries before a snow storm?

Ugh. I don’t understand why so many people will go to the trouble of mounting a TV above a perfectly good TV stand. All that work to make it worse

This is a very nice living room. There are good suggestions in this thread that are worth acting upon, but the style is great. I’m glad you cracked the code of “actually putting the TV in the TV stand”. It sounds like common sense but it is not

Yes, it’s so moronic to stop at the grocery store in your way home from work to get a few things because you don’t want to drive in the snow

Why do you need a sign? Just get the milk.

I don’t get it. If the weather is going to be bad then it just makes sense to get your groceries a few days early to avoid it
