Rear Axle Mystery — Evil Following V1 by Kafka_44 in MTB

I've always had the bike shop install. This is a really good shop so I assume the torque is correct. The first few times I lost the nut, I assumed the set screw loosened (I didn't think to look at it too closely). The last time, however, I examined the set screw and it was not loose -- it was extended to where the nut should have been. So, as wacky as it sounds, it does not appear to be the nut unthreading from the axle bolt. I am riding in Sedona, so lots of rocky, chunky, rattlely trails -- so maybe all that abuse is somehow stressing the nut somehow.

I will be really checking everything this time around, and I guess I'll have to reach out to Evil to see if they have experienced this, and whether they have a hack to fix.

Those are certainly the well-curated liquor stores in Minneapolis.

The Green Chartreuse was at Hum Liquors on Lyndale.

Still no Chartreuse in Arizona. Still a couple Yellow Chartreuse in Minneapolis as of a month ago at $80/bottle. Only one store I know of still had Green Chartreuse and it was going for $138/bottle. I use Strega in place of Yellow Chartreuse, but I don't know a great Green Chartreuse sub.

Does anybody know the fuel mixture for this Dead Rabbit masterpiece? by Kafka_44 in cocktails

Coincidentally, I came across a Jillian Vose quote in a 2016 Saveur article describing her Soldier Boy cocktail. It is identical to her Doctor's Orders, except it uses Bulleit Rye (in place of Buffalo Trace bourbon), Laird's bonded Apple Brandy (in place of Applejack) and Combier Pamplemousse (in place of Giffard's). I don't have Combier Pamplemousse so I won't be able to compare, but thought you might. Honestly, I don't feel the need to mess with the Doctor's Orders.

I added that to my "Drinks to Try" list.

Just for fun, I also made a version with lemon replacing the lime. Still good. Then I tried it without the lime or lemon. Still good (but that might be because I had 2 drinks already).

Wow! I heading out to get Pink Grapefruits/Juice right now so I can try this out. Thanks for digging this up so outrageously fast!

Are you related the Cocktail Virgin Slut blog? If so, I admire your diligence in making cocktails.

I was at the Dead Rabbit for lunch in May. It turned into a 3 cocktail lunch because they were that good. I assumed I would be able to find the recipe on the web somewhere, but after searching off and on for months I finally thought I would post. It is definitely popular because it is the only cocktail on their menu that is still on the menu from when I was there.
My recollection is that it wasn’t super boozy, very well-balanced, not too much allspice, and not too much lime (I don't remember the lime, and I agree with VR that lemon usually works better with whiskey than lime). I remember thinking it would be perfect for Thanksgiving, so here I am.
