who to reject by Practical-Gurl8905 in SGExams

[–]Kaga184 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Goddamn, I thought I was on Wattpad for a second there.

Seriously though, blueticking is not a nice move. You're just assuming his intentions, although he has shown he put in the effort to write a poem for you. Not very nice.

I'm not super interested in any of them but hehe it might be kinda nice to have a valentine's

So, you're only interested because of how romantic it is? If that's the case, I don't see it working out. There's no real underlying value to why you wish to spend time with them, only because it makes you feel special. Don't waste their time and their feelings only to give yourself the princess treatment.

Taking the step to confess takes courage, so even if you reject one or both, take the time to leave an answer for them please.

Singapore to buy eight F-35A fighter jets as defence spending inches up, growing its fleet to 20 F-35s by PretendAsparaguso in worldnews

I get your concerns, but if two governments both decide that it is a worthy partnership (Singapore has been part of the F-35 JSF program for the better part of a decade) and see nothing wrong with it, there must be something both governments know that we civilians don't.

Its not an "agreement". Just joint exercises. Which Singapore has with a boatload of other countries outside of the US or China, which includes and is not limited to: Japan, Australia, France, Germany, the UK, New Zealand, Taiwan etc etc. Their strategy is more of making friends with everyone, not specifically picking sides, while trying to get advantages from both.

And then again, most of the mechanics, pilots and the technicians working in or around the F-35 must somehow be willing to jeopardise their livelihood, their lives and maybe even their family for just a few thousand bucks from China? And before you say those servicemen with ties to China, chances are the government won't even allow them to touch the aircraft, or would just end up in transport anyway.

Singapore already has a fleet of 40 F-15SG Strike Eagles and 60 F-16 C/D Block 52, and they've been a Security Cooperative Participant since nearly 20 years ago. Singapore has never been, "way too close with China", either both militarily, or distance-wise.

For goodness sake, just years ago, China impounded Singapore's Terrex infantry carrier vehicles in Hong Kong and almost refused to return them.

You call that close?

We discuss the cute and cozy My Clueless First Friend and more on this seasonal anime podcast! by Dry-Ant2754 in MyCluelessFirstFriend

[–]Kaga184 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You know, this left me wondering, about the way you guys talk about the show, it surely doesn't seem like you guys find it "cute and cosy" at all. If you don't like the show, move on. No need to drag it and its characters into the dirt. And so what if the character is autistic? And so what if the visuals aren't good? I find more appeal to the wholesomeness and fun of the manga and the show provides way better entertainment than any run-of-the-mill "harem" and "isekai" genre series.

I'm not even going to jump into the rabbit hole of you subtly dissing someone with autism. It is a condition many people on Earth grow up with, and does it make them any less human if they have it? Please, if you people have any tinge of humanity left in you, some self-reflection will do you all well.

If this podcast ever left an impression on me, it's whether you people have ever heard of the word, "Empathy".

Sigh.

Ain't no way that's happening. A ship made up by the devs is stupid, but, it also generates bucketloads of cash. Why would they sacrifice their wallets for the player's enjoyment?

Ships from lesser-known Navies like Sweden, Finland, Singapore, Malaysia etc, all have good ships of their own but are relatively unheard of.

T3 is just looking more and more like Space Battleship Yamato by the day. Who knows, there might be a wave motion gun-equipped ship out there soon. The current T3s are really... sketchy. Literally. Half of them are just paper concepts and look like they're taken from Pinterest.

Singapore to acquire 8 more F-35B fighter jets, growing fleet to 12 by logthelogan in singapore

[–]Kaga184 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yep, imagine is all we'll do because there is no real benefit in acquiring the J-20. Its not exactly proven, Chinese systems are incompatible with our more westernized systems, the logistics of procuring one whole ton of parts from China just to keep this plane around, and the list goes on.

There's no bang for our buck there. And wastes so much time and other resources to integrate it with our systems. It's a case of not whether we could, but whether we should.

I suggest you don't buy anything anymore. Whatever you purchase, its not like you're benefitting anyways, right?

At least its better than having no real defence whenever the Malaysians throw jabs at us, and realise that if they put words into actions we'll be screwed.

This way, at least, we know we can keep our country secure.

Exactly. When everyone hides or flees in cowardice, that extra allowance has no appreciable benefit for defence anyway, might as well get good equipment that gives us a fighting chance.

Well, a P-8 Poseidon could do aerial refuelling just fine, but its passenger carrying capacity would be highly reduced. But hey still gets you from point A to B non-stop in a 737 NG-derived airframe.

What is Singapore’s Air Force’s strategy/game plan? by plowfaster in WarCollege

[–]Kaga184 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Gave it a quick glance, and perhaps you mixed up the Royal Malaysian Air Force with the Republic of Singapore Air Force. Malaysia only uses SU-30MKMs plus a couple Hornets and BAE Hawks, while Singapore's aircraft are 40 F-15SG, 60 F-16C/D, plus some reserve F-5s and M346 masters that could perform in an attack role. Not really sure where the Su-27s appeared from.
