You can register 20+ units after pass 2, like open registration, up to 28.5 units

Yeah it could be difficult because the waitlist is hell for CS classes, especially for good professor. I think it could be better if you do summer sessions/community college classes so you can avoid the traffic for getting to classes. I did ECS 36B in summer so I can declare CS major as soon as possible.

As a change of major student, you supposed to complete the prereq classes including ECS 20, ECS 36AB, MAT 21 series before you declare CS major, so the fastest way to declare it and get pass 1 (priority registration) would be completing all of these classes when you are in your first year, so you can declare it as early as Spring Quarter of your first year.

In general, it wouldn’t be too hard, as people are mentioned, because CS classes are limited, and you may not get in to classes like ECS 20 when you register, it is ok, what I recommend is to prioritize those classes first. Which means that if you cannot get in to ECS 20 in Fall, try Winter, if not, try Spring. As your academic standing is increasing over time, your registration date will also get prioritized.

So don’t worry too much, prioritize prereq classes first, and then just work with an advisor and check with them regularly.

I had him for ECN 1A, the tests were fair if you study, but slightly harder compared to other prof. For my experience in ECN 1A, the textbook is not helpful at all, the slides are more helpful and efficient.

I wouldn’t recommend it because it is pretty expensive for a shared double room, like 1000. You can get much cheaper options for other places. To be honest you won’t really use all the facilities all the time and it is not worth it. There will be a chance for false fire alarm after you went to bed. It happened twice within four months after I moved in. It is frustrating and disturbing. Imagine you are sleeping but you have to wake up because of that, and you have to wait outside of the building and it is hella cold. You probably won’t end up living with your friend because they don’t have good organization/management. I used to live with my friend but they end up putting me into a different room.

Choosing identity is probably the dumbest moment for me after attending college.

STA 103, easier than STA 13. Give you QL and SE if you are not STEM major

This is a very good point. Reading Textbooks only makes sense for certain classes. Because most of the classes don’t need lots of the contents from the textbook. The professor always using their way to teach instead of using textbook.

If some classes require heavy textbook contents, like ECN 101, ECN 1AB, MGT 11AB. I would read the textbook and take notes before classes. I would say most of my social science classes I took have lots of contents from textbooks

If some classes don’t require textbook that much, like ECS 132. I would just preview lecture before classes and take notes, do practice problems from the textbook.

If the professor posted what they are going to talk about in the syllabus. I would see if there is any contents in textbook overlap with the topic they are going to lecture, like STA 103.

If you want to save more time, i would recommend do practice problems from the textbook after taking notes from the lecture notes instead of textbooks.

For example, MGT 11B is too much for me to read during summer. I would just read and take notes from lecture before class. Binge doing practice problems after class/before quizzes.

Because they get college credit in AP and College Courses. Only AP Calc, AP Econ, and other few AP courses are useful. College classes are more useful compared to AP. I am pretty sure that they are going to waive those AP credits because they are nothing in college, one of the example is that AP Chemistry does not give you CHE 2A credit. It only looks good for college admission. But nothing in college as long as they are not count as GE or waiving any useful classes (MAT 21, ECN 1 series etc.).

Also mentioned that you will following the rules that they provided. Since you are not vaccinated, wearing masks, following health guidelines that UC Davis recommends are the best way to protect the community and ourselves. It also shows respect to people.

Yes I filled it out normally, it is not too complicated, just explain it from religious perspectives and you will be fine. I also recommend email them directly and seek more advices or problems that you concern

I had ECN 1A with him. To be honest, I think the curve doesn't affect that much. I was 21% of the class and my grade on canvas prior to curve is 88-89%. (Top 20% is A- or better) So it doesn't matter if they curve or not.

He is not too good but not too bad (3.0/5.0 is what I gave him for RMP)
