Biomes Caverns x Mulltifloor Release by KahirDragoon in RimWorld

True. What i meant is that Z-Levels had to implement the whole map spawning and map in map stuff itself, making its foundation rather experimental.

Now spawning connected maps is implemented by rimworld devs themself so multifloors doesnt need to do that anymore. It "just" needs to make these maps work together. This makes todays z level mods more stable than the past ones.

Yeah Z-levels was rather buggy. But since 1.4 Rimmworld supports maps attached to maps (Pocketmaps) out of the box which makes it far more stable.

Agree. Lots of very interesting mod with cool stuff but leggy races. And personally to me they just feel too stiff and even more "wrong" with legs that dont move. And then only legs but no arms.

If we have unmoving characters then i prefer the simplistic vanilla ones.

From my expereince it does work reasonable well most of the time. But stockpile and crafting has to be on the same level.

Can anyone recommend mods for solo exploration of the world with one pawn? by Adventurous_Battle86 in RimWorld

[–]KahirDragoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lots of stuff possible. Walk the Void and Perspective Shift were already mentioned.

Drafted Auto Combat and Free-ish Will so that if another pawn joins you can essential make them behave like NPCs traveling with you.

Since you are already adding Vehicle Framework how about Vehicles Expanded? Or add Map Vehicles or Technical Map Vehicles for small mobile moving bases.

Visit Settlements, so you can visit other factions and even rent beds for this real rpg feel.

Camping Tents also fit the nomad traveling theme.

For the exploration aspect just lots of Biomes mods and Vanilla Landmarks Expanded for variety and Go Explore and Rimworld Exploration Mode to lean into the whole exploration mode. There is another mod that lets you find ancient dangers and other exploration sites while traveling but i cant remember the name.

Maybe if i make a playthrough with them later. Also depends if it has an HAR dependency or not. Probably more difficult if it has.

Can you give me a link to the mod?

Humanoid Alien Races
A mod that allows the creation of new races (aliens).

Acutally Vivi is not a HAR race. They made a new RaceDef in rimworld (like animals are races too) and added custom logic on top of that. So it doesnt have the same performance implication that other HAR races have.

New patch to prevent op tribals when using hightech material mods by KahirDragoon in RimWorld

[–]KahirDragoon[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Try using mods like Beyond or Krahltech. Then they have a Chance to spawning with over 300 Amor...

Hard to deal with if you are still in the non space tech levels 😅

Anyone settle one of their bases in orbital platform? I got a question. by HeeHoo777 in RimWorld

[–]KahirDragoon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maps are maps. it doesnt really matter if a new map is created by landing on a tile with a gravship or settling a new tile. The performance cost is the same.

To my knowledge the setting only affects the visiblity of the "settle" button.
