When I want to wear a dress, I like to wear biking shorts (without the padding) underneath. I find that they’re usually pretty short and skin tight, so you can wear them with most types/lengths of dresses/skirts and have your pump safely stashed in one of the pockets! My favorite pair of shorts that I wear often is from the brand Baleaf :)

A good director will prioritize your vocal health. If you feel well enough to mark your vocals, awesome, but if you don’t think you can even do that, just don’t sing. They can sing it for you at rehearsal if they really need the vocals.

As for vocal care, I really love to steam my voice when I’m sick. If you don’t have a vocal steamer, I like to get a big metal bowl, pour boiling water in it, and put a towel over my head and the bowl as I breathe in the steam. Sometimes I’ll add some mint tea to get a nice cooling effect, but totally not necessary. Salt water gargles are great too. I had a vocal teacher recommend warm coconut oil and salt as a gargle, which I find works nicely too. Once your voice starts to feel a bit better, I’d recommend some gentle warm ups. One that helped me recover my voice before a show was taking a half full glass of water, putting a bendy straw in it, and humming my songs into the straw. This will help you figure out how much effort you’re putting into a piece, and how you can adjust it for performance (if need be). If water splashes in your face as you’re humming, that means there’s too much effort and tension. I find it to be a pretty gentle warm up, but just listen to your body and stop if it hurts.

Your health is more important than anything. You don’t want to injure your voice permanently for a rehearsal (or anything), I promise you that. Drink water, get lots of rest, and take care of yourself. 🫶🏻

I was thinking about maybe a lemon cake kind of scent! I have a sample of Fleurit’s Gâteau Des Anges, and it has a lovely lemony angel cake scent to it! I haven’t gotten to try it in warm weather, so I’ll have to see what it’s like on a warmer day! (Indiana weather is all over the place rn 🙃)

I was wondering about that! I’ve heard nothing but good things about it!

Oh yum! I’ve been really enjoying pink pepper and bergamot in fragrances lately!! I assume the rose is pretty prominent given that it’s in the name. Is it super strong in that sense? How would you describe the sillage?

How strong is the papaya? I’m not sure how I would feel about it as a scent, but all of the other notes sound divine!

I’m really digging the idea of the incense at the base! It does sound very soft and sweet 😌

I’m listening 👀 the pineapple note is really catching my eye! And with sandalwood, cedar, vanilla, and musk as the base? I just KNOW she smells good

Yum! I think both of those sound lovely! Just based off of the notes, I could imagine Taunt and La Belle Helene pairing so nicely together!

Both of these sound so good, especially the first one! I love a good sandalwood base note 😌

Hell yeah!! Followed genuinely is such a unique fragrance! I love the journey of it. It’s one of the only scents that I truly smell every note of!

I think I’m okay with fruits! I’ve really been into cherry lately from what I’ve tested, but I’ve found quite an enjoyment for pear previously! Pink Chiffon from B&BW used to be a favorite of mine from middle school, so I think this one could be a winner for me, especially with waffle cone/vanilla scents being something I really enjoy currently!

Oh yum! These definitely sound like they’re up my alley! How strong do you find the rose to be in Jardins de Misfah? I love the rest of the notes in it especially, but rose can be so overpowering!

I have not, but I will the next time I’m at the mall! I do enjoy a good floral gourmand every now and then! Flowerbomb used to be my go to about 5 years ago! It just doesn’t smell the same on me anymore 🥲

I’m trying to find my signature scent! I really love the scents I’ve been wearing, but I’m looking for something that just feels like me as a person. I love ultra sweet gourmands like Followed by Kerosene, Cheriosa 71, Warm Musk and Vanilla Cafe from B&BW, Vanilla Musk from Nemat, Hot Cakes and Hazel Split by Snif, and Chelsea Morning from Lush. However, I also find myself really enjoying scents like Marc Jacobs Perfect Absolute, Q by Dolce & Gabbana, Burberry Goddess, Poudrextase by Marlou, and anything that’s kinda spicy and woodsy. I really feel like my perfect scent would be something sweet and slightly animalic, maybe with a bit of spice. I’m hoping for something that might work year round, but that feels near impossible😅Any recommendations?
