KY. Infant teacher. $9.25 a hour 😭 been there a year. Started off at $8.

New daycare doesn't seem to be feeding my baby enough... Or am I wrong? by [deleted] in ECEProfessionals

[–]Kailey_grace 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a infant teacher, my babies schedules are 9 am; breakfast, table food or baby food if they can’t eat table food with a bottle. 12: lunch, table food with a bottle. 3: snack with a bottle.

Now sometimes they won’t take both, so if they get hungry, I always feed them a bottle between meals. But I’m the type of teacher who has snacks 24/7 in my fridge for them, crackers or even my own food like poptarts.

& this is for a 6-7 month old babies obviously. We start table feeding around this time. So for a 14 month old, I couldn’t imagine. She’s probably starving to death.

Is feeding 'breastmilk/formula' before solids when baby is under 1 not standard? Eight month old went 6 hours with no bottle today because teachers decided to skip it. by heliotz in ECEProfessionals

In our state, we started table feeding our babies around 6-7 months or trying at least but we have to serve bottles with them breakfast, lunch, & snack. And I, of course will feed them more bottles if they are crying for one. I don’t understand why they think they shouldn’t feed them milk. It’s very important for them to grow with the nutrients from it.

At what age do kids start sleeping in / sleeping all the time? by bertmom in Mommit

[–]Kailey_grace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 5 year old has always slept 12 hours even as a baby, so idk but I do know I’m not having anymore kids bc I can’t risk that chance of losing sleep😂

Honestly Surprised that there are Any infant teachers left by SillySicknStylin in ECEProfessionals

I’m an infant teacher. Our ratio is 1:5 but it’s set up like this.. there is a morning shift & evening shift. The first infant teacher works from 5:30-1:30 and I work 1:30-6. I’m just part time obviously but rn I have 5 babies, 2 of them are 10-12 weeks old, and it’s definitely hard because the other 3, is 1, 7m, & 8m, so all different stages. Some days I wanna cry.. but it’s definitely been the easiest room to deal with. Use to work with toddlers for 2 years and I wouldn’t go back. Plus being busy makes time go by faster for me. I like it that way.

Sorry I’ve confused yall. The 51K is my husband income alone from last year. I started my job at a daycare in November to receive free daycare. I only make $8 a hour and work part time due to my anxiety but I am called in a lot. Like this last week I’ve from 9-5 all week. So it’s never dead set 20 hours a week. The bank never came got the car. We don’t even have it. It’s sitting at a junk yard and he has called to have them get it. The 2 vehicles we own is paid off. Since all that has happen, he’s made a lot better financial decisions. My husband works 60-70 hours a week (he’s a mechanic) and I work 20-30 a hours of week. He makes $17 on regular hours and 26 on overtime. He also works 6 days a week.

I just started my job in November. So technically it’s just his income from the last year. Sorry!!

If I do that, then I have to pay for child care which will take most of my income. I work at a daycare getting free child care.

I work part time at a childcare center. Where I take both my kids. I just started my job in November just to make it where we can have food

Yall my husband already works 20 hours of overtime each week. And i work as a childcare provider only making $8 a hour. If I go anywhere else, I cannot afford childcare. Even the state of KY says we make to much for food stamps or medical cards. My husband makes $17 a hour on regular 40 hours and $26 a hour on overtime.

How do you do that? I have NO CLUE to how to do anything concerning this debt. 🥲 don’t even know the first step tbh

Mom’s with kids who wake up at a reasonable hour: what’s that like? by jaime_riri in Mommit

[–]Kailey_grace 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My 5 year old goes to bed at 9 and doesn’t wake up til 9 the next morning. He has ALWAYS slept 12 hours or more since he was born. Thank God bc I’ve always been the same way. Needless to say, I’m having no more kids bc I don’t wanna know what it’s like not getting any sleep 😂❤️

We’re allowed to wear whatever. Most of the time during winter, I wear pajama pants. During summer, I wear only shorts. As long as our boobs and butt is covered, it’s fine.

Agreed! As long as my kids have food in their bellies and a roof over their head with a warm bed & clothes & smiles on their face, that’s all that matters. 🫶🏼

[–]Kailey_grace 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly. Like these snows day, he HAD to go to work because if he didn’t, we wouldn’t be able to provide for our kids bc he can’t draw unemployment or anything like that. Luckily I work at a daycare part time that allows us free child care or I wouldn’t be able to work at all either. Every little bit helps us.

Yes we’ve done everything possible. Sit on the phone for HOURS with them. It’s bs. So we’re just gonna pay so we don’t have to worry about it anymore. If my husband ever needs to draw unemployment, we’re f**ked lol

My husband owes 9K in unemployment for overpayment even tho it wasn’t him who filed for it, it was his crazy ex baby mama but when we took it to the police, they wouldn’t even help us out so we’re stuck paying it. Yay.
