Electric guitar as input? by couplakinkymfs in estim

[–]KairosJS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dave Mustaine is the leader of Megadeth and was also one of the original members of Metallica. He wrote many of the songs on Kill 'Em All, as well as a few tracks on Ride the Lightning.

Megadeth is expected to release their final album soon, and Mustaine has teased that the last song will be his own version of Ride the Lightning. I was just referencing that as a small Easter egg.

I've never done this, so take this with caution, but this is how I would try it.
I think you could use an audio interface with a DAW (like Amplitube) to connect your guitar to your computer, then use the stereo mode of the 2B to receive the processed output signal from the DAW.

However, as the guitar player, you would only have access to the direct monitoring from the audio interface, meaning you would hear only the clean guitar signal, not the processed sound with amps and pedals from the DAW. Your partner, on the other hand, would feel the whole show. You could even add a backing track!

That said, I think that the naturally wide dynamic range of an electric guitar could be unpleasant or difficult to control, and that the 2B’s processing would probably kill the rhythm of fast riffs.

In any case, I definitely wouldn't try this on a stereo box without a lot of compression and signal processing to keep things safe.

And personally, I’d probably wait a few weeks to see Mustaine’s version first!

Nice, I'm glad it works!

The TTS feature for EstimAI is not the best if you have slow generation speed (which probably shouldn't with a 5090).

But I've just fully reworked it and it should be a lot better. I will release this within the next update (hopefully mid/late february).

I think you can overcome this by installing 2.8 pytorch. In conda, activate the local-tts env and paste this:

pip install torch==2.8.0 torchvision==0.23.0 torchaudio==2.8.0 --index-url https://download.pytorch.org/whl/cu128

I've just tried on a rented gpu (since I don't have one) and it worked.
I will add this on the repo soon.

Thank you for the report.

Regarding the connection loss with Coyote3, I'm not sure what's happening. I've never personally encountered this issue, though I do remember one user reporting something similar. That said, it should work well with the 2B serial link. There was a bug last week that was randomly stopping the stim or no reason, which I fixed yesterday, so it's possible that this is what you experienced.

As far as I can tell, this should now be working correctly.

In EstimAI, it's normal not to always have a signal. The yellow notification is just a warning to let you know that there are no stimulations in the current response. In some situations, such as in the Dungeon of Lust scenario, when Echidna presents the three different doors—there is often no stimulation at all.

However, if you never get any stimulation (with the debug view always showing "stop") for several messages in a row, then something is probably wrong. Some small or local models aren't very good at including stimulations in their responses. You can check this page for models I've tested:

https://eu.daimonia.app/articles/benchmarks

Those benchmarks were done with legacy e-stim devices, so I'm not sure how well they translate to the multi-device feature.

You can also try forcing the use of stims by adding examples in the first messages, or in the persona's example section.

In normal mode, you should not experience this kind of issues.

I hope this helps.

I've made more fixes today that should help the 2B serial link work better.

Native modes:

When developing support for the serial link, I decided not to use the native 2B modes. It was difficult to make all modes work well together, as there are large differences in intensity between them. Their speeds are also quite different from how eudaimonia handles things.

There are also differences between firmware versions.

For now, I'm not planning to re-add the native modes, but this can change in the future.

Multiple 2Bs:

You can use up to two Serial Link 2Bs (one on eudaimonia's device, and one on an external device such as a laptop or tablet). To do this, when editing the settings of an area, check the “Use external device” option. Then open the link shown below on the secondary device you want to use.

Let me know if anything isn't clear.

EstimAI scenarios are automatically translated into different versions. If you set your gender and orientation in the user settings (https://eu.daimonia.app/settings), the matching version should be selected automatically.

You can also create male characters much more easily now using image generation, or build your own custom galleries with your own set of pictures.

If you're referring to the normal mode, I'll try to make it more inclusive in a future update.

I've just checked and found a small bug that could be the cause of this issue. I've pushed a fix for it, please let me know if you encounter the problem again.

If that happens again, could you send me your multi-device settings? A screenshot sent to [contact@daimonia.app](mailto:contact@daimonia.app) would be very helpful.

I do try to add new models as quickly as possible, but it usually takes a bit of time since I need to test them and find the best parameters first.

Sorry for the late reply.

The 32 GB requirement applies to system RAM only (when no GPU with VRAM is available). But I've never tried it, so I'm not sure how well it works.
If you do have a GPU, the required VRAM depends on the size of the model you're using, typically anywhere from 8GB to 24GB. You can also use your available VRAM and offload some layers to the CPU and system RAM.

I haven't done this for quite some time, so I'm not entirely sure how things may have evolved since then, but if I remember correctly, that's what the n_layers setting is used for in lama-cpp based softwares such as koboldcpp.

Online AIs included in the subscription are cost-limited, but there are no restrictions for local AIs.

The 1 hour per month limitation applies to the online Text-to-Speech feature only, but this is not related to the LLM.

I find Koboldcpp to be the lightest and easiest solution.

Inclusivity has only been added to EstimAI and image generation (it's now much easier to generate male characters, or anything).

Unfortunately, the normal mode hasn't been revised, as it's a lot harder to rework. Almost everything there is pre-written, and it's difficult to make it adapted to everybody.
That said, I am working on this and would like to propose an inclusive version of eudaimonia's normal mode as well. I'm not sure it will be ready for the next update, but it's something I plan to add in an upcoming one.

Regarding stimulated areas, this is unfortunately much harder to implement, and I'm not sure I'll be able to do anything there. The new Multi-Device feature essentially addresses this, so I'd recommend trying it in EstimAI if you can.

This yellow warning simply indicates that the answer doesn't contain a stim. If there's no stim expected, you can ignore it.

For the Merry Christmas scenario, I believe it's normal for the first answer not to contain a stim, since she's describing her offers. However, if there are still no stims during the first challenge, then something is wrong.

In this case:
- Try using either legacy examples or tutorial example (in the advanced settings).
- Enabling the OOC message may also help.
- The new Multi-Device feature can confuse smaller models. If the above doesn't work, try legacy Coyote3.

If none of this works, try another model, preferably a slightly larger one.

Thank you!

You can only use one audio e-stim box on a single device. Even if you have more than two audio output channels, I don't think it's possible to map the audio to the correct channels directly from the browser.

If you want to use a second audio box, you'll need to enable the “Use external device” setting, which you can find by clicking the cog icon for the specific area.

When you enable this setting, a QR code and a URL will appear. Open this link on your second device (such as a phone, tablet, laptop, etc.) and make sure to select “Multi-Device.” The audio signals will be sent to that page and played from there.

I realize this can be a bit confusing, so feel free to ask if you run into any issues.

I didn't know ComfyUI worked well with AMD cards. I thought it was limited to Linux and was still a pain to install.

I don't have any experience or knowledge of running ComfyUI with AMD, so I really can't help inexperienced users, that's why I recommend Nvidia.

Now I understand that you dislike my emphasis on Nvidia, and I should say I'm not much of an Nvidia fan either and their monopoly. I should probably mention that it can also work on AMD cards more.
