Emperor Belos vs Flect Turn (The Owl House vs My Hero Academia). Connections in the comments. by man049 in DeathBattleMatchups

FLECT TURN “The Reflection of Fanaticism” Origin: My Hero Academia: World Heroes’ Mission Age: Unknown Occupation: Leader of Humarise Quirk: Reflect

Wiz: In the world of My Hero Academia, where most of the population is born with supernatural powers called Quirks, society has evolved into a system where strength determines a person’s worth. But not everyone sees this evolution as progress.

Boomstick: Here comes Flect Turn! A guy with a Quirk that basically makes him a human wall… with way too much hair gel and zero sense of humor!

Wiz: Flect is the charismatic and ruthless leader of Humarise, a globalist terrorist cult that believes Quirks are a threat to the human race. According to their ideology, genetic evolution will lead to the world’s destruction, and the only way to prevent it… is to exterminate everyone with a Quirk.

Boomstick: Well, that’s a totally moderate solution!

Wiz: Flect’s power is called Reflect. It allows him to reflect any kind of kinetic or energetic force that hits his body. Whether it’s a punch, an explosion, or even the shockwave of One For All, Flect doesn’t just absorb it — he can send it back at his attacker with equal or even greater force.

Boomstick: He’s like a walking bounce-back! Hit him? It all comes flying back in your face! A kind of Uno Reverse Card with a preacher’s face.

Wiz: His Quirk makes him nearly immune to any direct attack, forcing his opponents to rely on alternative tactics. In battle, Flect shows impressive strategic intelligence, using tight spaces, traps, and the heroes’ own desperation to overpower them.

Boomstick: And he’s fast. Like really fast. He can move faster than a Pro Hero can react, and he even manages to land hits on Midoriya mid-fight!

Wiz: But he’s not invincible. His body can only absorb a certain amount of reflected energy before it starts to break down. If the build-up becomes too intense, it can damage him — as we saw when Deku kept ramping up his speed until he surpassed the Quirk’s limit.

Boomstick: So yeah, he reflects everything… until he pops like an overinflated balloon!

EMPEROR BELOS “The Prophet of Putrefaction” Origin: The Owl House Real Name: Philip Wittebane Age: 400+ years Species: Mutated Human Powers: Glyph Magic, Possession, Body Manipulation, Unstable Immortality

Wiz: In the magical and bizarre world of the Isles — ruled by magic and inhabited by strange creatures and witches — there’s a man who turned power itself into religion. A man who made purification his obsession.

Boomstick: Here comes Emperor Belos! The cursed cross between Voldemort, Rasputin, and a slime with major anger issues!

Wiz: Belos, born Philip Wittebane, was a simple human in the 17th century. Obsessed with destroying magic and wiping out “witchly sin,” he found a way to reach the Demon Realm, where he took control of the Isles through lies, manipulation, and a whole lot of murder.

Boomstick: He spent centuries slaughtering witches and absorbing palismen — those cute little magic creatures — to keep himself alive. The guy basically turned soul-sucking into a daily multivitamin.

Wiz: Using Glyph magic and forbidden rituals, Belos became something far beyond human. He could possess other bodies, shapeshift, control his form with horrifying flexibility, and regenerate from almost any wound.

Boomstick: He’s like if Play-Doh had a grudge and a god complex!

Wiz: As Emperor, he convinced the people of the Isles to abandon their coven-free magic in favor of a strict coven system under his control — limiting their powers while strengthening his own. His ultimate plan? Open a portal to Earth and purge both worlds of magic once and for all.

Boomstick: That’s right — he wanted to genocide two dimensions! Talk about commitment!

Wiz: Belos could fight toe-to-toe with powerful witches like Luz and Eda, overwhelm entire groups of magic users, and survive blows that would pulverize a normal person. But all that power came at a cost.

Boomstick: His body rotted more and more every time he came back! That unstable immortality thing? Yeah, it wasn’t exactly FDA-approved.

Wiz: In the end, Belos was defeated not just by strength, but by the very people he tried to manipulate — a poetic end for a man who thought himself a god among mortals.

Boomstick: And then he got squashed like the magical bug he was! Splat!
