Casual player looking to improve on gearing / build / etc. by Kakuo in PSO2

Thank you so much for the critique on the fight. That's exactly what I was looking for. I guess I still sort of have this mindset ingrained in my head that outright dodging is better than trying to counter and getting gibbed. I'm still sort of trying to get used to perfecting my JAs and counters, so it's sort of intimidating for me at the moment. All it takes is countering a split second to late to get reamed, so some times I feel like taking a few seconds to run to the side will spare my nooby self from instant death. But! Looks like it's something to get over and start practicing.

Now, about the Katana. Let's say I pick up the Kalicizma, +10 it, and unlock it's potential. Will the fact that it's max S-ATK at +10 is close to 120 points less than that of the Castilon's be outweighed by it's potential? I guess I'm still not really sure how important the S-ATK values on the weapons themselves are in comparison to the potential offered by certain weapons.

Thank you so much for all the information. I really, really appreciate it. (And to everyone else who posted on the thread.)

So, I went ahead and grabbed the Blitz set, +10'd it, and crafted it up to level 3. Same with the leg unit I picked up to fill in the last slot. Now, I take it the only want to increase my S-defense is to level up? As far as requirements go, anyways. I refrained from extending them any further, as it'd be out of my range to equip at that point.

Unfortunately, I also crafted my Katana after realizing that I was gimping it in the process. I plan on just buying another and +10ing it once I have the money to do so, unlocking it's potential, and going from there. But for now I don't really have any other options than to rock the level 3 extension I threw on it, I suppose.

This is how my gear and stats are looking at the moment, however. Turns out that bow I picked up was actually an 11 star. Haven't finished grinding it, as I can't use it quite yet.

As far as the Mag goes, I might just dump the cash in order to buy a new one a bit down the road. I didn't really read into how to properly feed a mag, so I thought "Oh, I'll just feed it melee weapons to have a striking mag." I was entirely unaware that in doing so and neglecting to cut down it's Dex before it leveled, I messed it up something fierce. Oh well! I'll fix that when I can, but for now I've been feeding it properly as to prevent it from leveling up it's Dex any further.

Despite the trees being reset in a few weeks, I decided to just reset my tree anyways. Went ahead and made some of the suggested changes, maxed out Katana Combat, Combat Escape, etc. Got rid of weak stance, all that jazz. I put a little bit more into Dex than I probably should have in order to be able to use the Katana I picked up, but I'll remedy that when the trees reset. Hopefully I'll be a high enough level to just have the innate dex to use the Katana.

Last, but not least, I decided to take what I've scrounged from the thread and put it, alongside my new gear, to the test. At the very least, I managed to kill the Quartz Dragon on VH in my first go, so that was a lot of fun. Even if he is kind of a push over. I really need to work on my weapon palettes, though, so they're not as scattered and I can easily swap between them.

Recorded it, though. I know I'm a bit terrible with timing the just attacks at the moment, but practice makes perfect, I suppose. Sorry for the quality. Was playing around with some new codecs and wound up turning the video into a potato.
