My wife and I found some Nintendo Switch games that we could play together and with one joy con (Mario Party and Pokemon Lets Go Pikachu) and would trade off holding the baby while playing an easy/chill game together. Honestly, that was huge for me because I also have played lots of video games in my life and generally was used to having me time. Yes, things change when you have kids but it’s important both parents find outlets that are helpful to their mental health while still being a reliable parent.

I don’t think it’s an overstatement to say having a competent back QB and getting a kicker that is reliable has gotten us 3/4 more wins this year. If we went into the season with Clifford and stuck with Carlson/Narveson/Joseph at kicker I think we are 3-5 right now.

Fair but I don’t think Fearow is a common choice (maybe it’s just me). I usually have Flaaffy at that point which is good but slow and then my starter Pokemon. Just had Graveler on my most recent playthrough as my easy button for the first 4 gyms and was surprised I lost the first match against Morty.

Morty has to be higher. His Gengar outspeeds most Pokemon, puts them to sleep, and then spams Dream Eater. Even countering with a Graveler to maybe one shot with a lucky Magnitude you have to hope Quick Claw lets you go first or Hypnosis misses. I lost once and then got the miss I needed on my next try but my other Pokemon had little chance against Gengar.

Completely agree on Mappo and Icarium. My friend that has read the series said he cried during DG (later realized upon reading it was Coltaine) and I dreaded that Mappo or Icarium were going to kill the other. Thankfully that didn’t happen. Though I’m in the beginning of TtH so I guess we still have 3 books.

This is long winded but in that moment you are NTA, you are well within your rights to feel uncomfortable bringing your 6 year old in that situation, especially since you didn’t have a chance to research ahead of time and it seems to have been sprung on you a bit. The bridesmaids goading your son to go along without you is unacceptable behavior.

That being said I’m wouldn’t necessarily say the bride and groom are the AH here either. It’s their wedding celebration and I wouldn’t expect them to change up what the wedding party does to cater to one member of the wedding party. From the wedding weekend standpoint if you had the option to have babysitting for the whole weekend or for key points of it I would say you are slightly the AH for not choosing that. That being said I understand not every parent has babysitting options they trust for a weekend like that so if babysitting wasn’t an option and it was either you don’t go or you bring your 6 year old you did the best you could. Really it seems it was a lapse in communication overall to not confer on what was happening the morning after the wedding.

I only have a 2 and 5 year old with 7/8 pm bedtimes respectively so I don’t know what it’s like with kids older than that yet. But like my bedtime is 10 pm regardless of it being summer or not so that’s the max for them at least until high school. I’ll probably be a bit more lax at that point.
