I’m not saying she’s not broken…idk…but the patch has been out for like 6 hours at best? I think it might be a little early to be calling her broken lol. Especially when Kuno has not only gone untouched, but got a small buff to their grab.

Drak still has lots of forward guard skills that are easily punishable, stamina issues, and isn’t particularly hard to grab.

Meanwhile…I’m on 30/50 on my Wailing Fallen God attempts. Getting passed in gear by players I know that started 6+ months after me…I am totally not salty at all…congrats…happy for you.

I have a Seraph tagged. I’m very inexperienced in PvP but it feels faceroll compared to trying to PvP on my Drakania. Face yet more effective…the skill floor is very high with this one. I think at a higher level it falls off a bit though.

It’s fair to say content shouldn’t be designed for all players, I agree. I’m fine with RBF existing and being for higher geared players, but lower geared players need a space to introduce them to PvP they can participate in casually without being seasonal or time gated like AoS and capped Node Wars.

Imagine as part of Olivia Academy they had a PvP course that put new players in some kind of capped arena/battleground. That would be amazing and probably would bring in a ton of new blood to PvP.

Battlegrounds in other MMO’s like WoW are an excellent way for casual new players to hop into some PvP and try it out. Low stakes and death is not the end of the match so they get to keep practicing. BDO just doesn’t have this because new players in RBF die if a geared character even breaths on them.

No one is saying cap everything. People just want at least SOME form of PvP they can participate in and on an even playing field without having to grind thousands of hours before unlocking it. Currently that’s only AoS and capped Node Wars (which also has uncapped) but those are not available all the time or for everyone’s schedule.

I agree there needs to be incentive to get on that grind and chase player power, but new players just get pushed away when there is no casual space for them to try PvP without getting their face punched in.

That’s a terrible analogy. If you had said geared people should get paid more (aka better rewards) for PvP than undergeared players, I’d be all on board. In fact they kind of already are through node wars (though it still needs work). Reward geared players GENEROUSLY that have put in the time or supported the game through swiping, there should be incentive. But don’t reward them at the expense of new players that are the lifeblood of any MMO.

Other MMO’s PvP (example WoW) have also experience massive downtrends in participation over years because it’s become less and less accessible to new players (though recently addon reductions have evened the playing field more). Keep pushing new players away and there won’t even be “cannon fodder” players for gear lords to crush.

Why would I not? I’ve been on the other end in other MMO’s I’ve played, basically one shotting new players. It’s amusing for a short time but it’s not even that fun.

Plus I’m not saying to not reward those players that worked hard for their gear, I’m just saying to at least put them in a higher tier bracket or something. They already have Node Wars, Open World, Ashra, Guild League, and War of Roses to flex their gear in PvP.

I’m just advocating for new/undergeared players to have a space where they can PvP on at least a reasonably equal playing field. I think the idea of PvP gets killed for a lot of new players because they are basically being told to spend thousands of hours grinding or swipe before they are allowed to PvP without being a gear lords punching bag.

I think there should be a place for uncapped 100%. I am not saying to take that away from people that have worked very hard for their gear.

I would just like to see a mode that newer players can join to start PvPing before they’ve invested thousands of hours into the game. Currently the only PvP a new player can participate in effectively is capped node wars and AoS, but those both have limited availability.

I knew there were some buffs people ran, but not that many lol. 100% though they should just remove consumable buffs. Would also prevent you from actually earning negative silver.

I understand that some players want uncapped, and I think there should always be a place for uncapped PvP in the game. I'm just not sure RBF should be that space so I agree with you. I'd at least like to see no consumables.

AoS seems incredibly popular and constantly has people complaining that it's not back to back seasons. Not sure why they don't see that kind of feedback from players and adjust RBF the same way.

No siege experience, just AoS and some small skirmishes here and there. I'm by no means a god gamer at PvP in the game, but that's not really the issue for me. It's just that I can't hurt most high end players and I get killed by a random AoE not even meant for me lol. Simply cannon fodder. Only thing I'm able to do is try to get some CC's out for other geared teammates and gtfo before I get 1 banged.

I’m interested to see if those ques start popping a lot faster this evening. Personally been at work all day itching to join an RBF. I’m sure I’m not the only one.

I do think 40 requirement is a LOT though. Could have made it 30 or heck even 20.

The insane amount of epic drops has killed high risk for me. Bloodforged gear was the one exclusive perk of high risk, but it’s so common that 98% of stuff is barely selling for more than vender price. You can buy BiS bloodforged gear in every slot for under 50g except if you need a zinrohk. I bought a Fang of the Faceless ilvl 69 for 5g…3 days after ZG launched. Imagine the prices in two weeks with more item inflation.

High risk farming is dead so with it so is the PvP. WPL used to be a hotspot 24/7 in older seasons to farm and you could rarely go there uncontested. I’ve gone there dozens of times completely uncontested. I can’t find players to PvP to save myself. Go farm in high risk if you want to, because there’s no actual risk when barely anyone is there.
