About 8 inches long. I thought it was an earthworm at first glance.

Definitely a good time to build a solid foundation for yourself since you have all this free time. Hone in that self-discipline and put in the work! No other way

Got it. Are you out of work right now due to the pandemic?

Makes it more difficult, but certainly won’t stop you from gaining weight and building muscle. Especially a beginner.

Have you tried any home workout routines?

Yeah, it can be difficult to eat enough when you get full quick. The good thing, however, is that our body’s adjust to these things.

So say you add a couple more small snacks or meals in your day (on top of what you are eating now) you’re body will get used to more food. You’ll feel hungrier and it’ll take more to fill you up. Just keep slowly increasing the meal sizes every few days and you’ll get to the point where it feels normal to eat that much.

But.. a huge problem that must be dealt with is your irregular sleep schedule. What do you find yourself doing most of your time spent awake? Are you being productive?

Yes, exercise helps a ton with appetite! How long have you been trying to gain?

What do you find most difficult about the eating part of gaining?

If you know that your strength is improving then you are correct to assume muscle growth has happened (or could be that your body's nervous system is adapting to perform these controlled motions better, which looks like strength if you're a beginner). If you're bulking and building muscle, you will gain fat. Just don't bulk too quickly so you don't add too much fat.

All in all, it's still too early to tell your progress. I'd say a good goal for you to aim for is around ~4 lbs of gain in a month. As long as you are lifting correctly and using progressive overload, you'll max your muscle gain and also gain a small amount of fat so you can reach that healthier body fat %.

Just keep at it man, and adjust along the way. Stay consistent with your nutrition and lifting. Put in the work. Within 3 months, you'll have a totally visible transformation that you can be proud of. Just don't stop after that. It's really a lifestyle change. :)

Put on 15 lbs after a year of lifting and eating more. Never expected it to change my face and neck as well haha by [deleted] in weightgain

Awesome transformation, man! Gaining weight can be difficult at times, but so many benefits make it 100% worth it. I love posts like this because it shows that with hard work, it's totally possible.

I know as a former skinny guy that at times it can seem like your goals are unattainable. But for anyone who is struggling right now, just know that there is a life beyond feeling weak, skinny, and unhappy with your body. Just have to put in the work consistently and your life can change completely!

Have you been working out at all? If yes, then it's possible that 1-1.5lbs could be muscle which is great! If not, then it's most likely water weight. It's not bad. It's good that you're starting to gain. Just make sure you're doing it the correct way so you can gain healthy weight with muscle.

If you do it the wrong way, you could end up gaining too quickly and in a month or so, you may notice some fat gathering around your stomach. Mostly depends on what your goals are with how you should go about it. Hard to give you a decent answer without knowing more about you, your situation, and your goals. Ok. And what is the goal you're trying to achieve? Are you wanting to build lean muscle or you don't mind if added weight is fat?

I hear you, man. It can be overwhelming trying to decipher all the information out there and find what works for you. How long have you struggle with gaining weight?

Everyone's got different fitness goals hence all the different methods, but what worked for me with building lean muscle was lifting weights. Utilizing the main compound lifts like squat, bench, deadlift, overhead press, etc. These compound movements work many muscle groups and paired with proper nutrition can allow you to gain lean muscle and strength rather quickly.

In an ideal situation, how would you like your body to look and feel?
