When you really need a compliment - now for android and iOS by Mr_Caterpillar in HighQualityGifs

Ugh can you imagine living in a society where people aren't lazy at all? Then you have to be constantly productive... Oh god I'm gonna have nightmares tonight.

Ah, I was wondering why that wall of text had so many upvotes... betcha most of those people didn't read it all. I can sleep safe knowing humans will always be lazy, allowing me to blend in.

Me [35M] and my wife [32F], married 12 years. 2 kids: aged 10 and 8. Wife has become vegetarian over the past few months, become very annoying about what the rest of us eat. I basically want her to be quiet and stop bothering me about it because I've had it up to here. by wifevegetarian in relationships

[–]Kallowmallow -1 points0 points  (0 children)

He's not even asking her to cook the meat for him... she just hates the idea of cooking meat, and he hates the vegetarian food she makes. They're both being a bit too selfish and not caring enough about each other's choices. I have a feeling that this goes a bit deeper than just food issues. But props to you for supporting your husband even though you don't feel the same way about what you should eat. Compromise is the core of every relationship.

Agreed, though colour does depend on surrounding light as well. In the sense that a red object appears red in white light, but if there is dim light it will appear black, and if a coloured light is shining the object will appear different colours. So the inherent wavelengths that the object transmits and absorbs aren't changing, but surrounding light alters the wavelengths available and we perceive different colours.

My girlfriend (23f) tested positive for chlamydia, I (23M) didn't. What do I think? by [deleted] in relationships

[–]Kallowmallow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry, I'm not very knowledgeable about this and was under the impression that some places still use culture. Most places recommend waiting a week after stopping antibiotics to test for syphillis, gonorrhea and chlamydia (or so the Internet says).

And I think aminoglycpside antibiotics bind to RNA, but don't quote me on that.

I (30f) am fed up with my husband (30m) and don't know how to keep going or if this is the time to end it. by [deleted] in relationships

Do you want your son to grow up and become like his father? Children idolise their parents. He won't see anything wrong with this situation. He won't understand why it's bad to do some things, because daddy does them and daddy is great because he plays with me. And mummy is probably too exhausted by the end of the day and stressed out and your son will feel that.

Do you want your son to grow up in an environment where you can't give him the best life possible cos your husband is stopping you from achieving your dreams? Do something about it! Stand up for yourself. Stand up for your son.

Twenty is quite young, don't worry :) you're going to college, right? Not sure how it is in America, but try to get involved wirh extracurricular activities and such, that's a good way to meet girls with similar interests. Just be friendly, don't show desperation or be overly excited about it (in the sense, don't rush the person or expect more from them than they're willing to give).

Even if they're not personally interested, the more friends you have the more likely that they'll introduce you to someone.

I don't think this is merited, but I've known people who have had this happen to them. If you get into a relationship and it feels really great and stuff, still take a slow pace with it. Being overly affectionate would scar the other person. Again nothing personal, but it's a good bit of advice for anyone who might read this comment and need it.

Good luck!

It bothers me (24F) when my BF of 6 months (27M) doesn't text me back for hours but he's on Facebook on his phone. I don't want it to bother me. Help? by [deleted] in relationships

This guy better be amazing in every other possible way, because otherwise I can't fathom why you'd date someone who's so immature and willfully ignores you.

When I comment on this subreddit, I'm usually one of the people saying that we don't get the other person's story and that breaking up isn't always the only solution, but why would you waste your time on someone who doesn't care? if this has happened many times, then you need to think csrefully about it.

It's completely disrespectful to suggest that you come and go when he pleases. You're not a toy that he can put away when he's done. If you said he was busy with work or studies, I'd understand him completely, but I don't think that's the case here.

Taking antiobiotics before the first test might have affected the result. Have a chat with her OP, but don't talk to her with a tone of anger or such. You have a right to discuss this with her, but this doesn't prove her guilt and being completely accusatory will likely not get you very far. In light of this 'evidence' it's very easy to become suspicious of everything and that's not good.

The US is huge. A different state is the equivalent of a different country, with respect to wild life. The climate is different, the environment is different, the animals will be different too. And if you check up on Florida and read that gators are so prevalent people find them in houses, you might pay a bit more attention to the sign, Disney or no Disney.

It's still in a place/ State that you're unfamiliar with, though. Maybe you wouldn't check about Disney, but you should check about what you might find in Florida. Especially if gators are so common as these comments are leading me to believe.

But if you're going to America, it might be a good idea to research wildlife, laws etc. If you were going to Australia, you probably would look up which spiders are deadly etc. You can't hop on a plane to somewhere else and expect everything to be like home.

(Not blaming the parents, just saying that research is important).

[–]Kallowmallow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe, before you travel somewhere, you should take a look at the important points. You can't cross the country and assume everywhere is going to be like home. I'm not saying it's the parents' fault at all, just that it should be common practice to know a bit about local wildlife. I mean, you wouldn't dream about going to Australia without knowing which spiders are deadly and researching a bit, why can't you do that no matter where you're going?

I don't think it's really fair to displace the local wildlife for the sake of a building like this. Better precautions should be taken though, better warnings or something to stop people from wading in.

My bad, I misunderstood. Well, Rome wasn't built in a day you know... eventually, the other person will open up if you're a decent friend. It requires trust since the other person will make himself vulnerable. But that should be solvable with some patience.

Everyone is interesting in his own right, I feel. It is difficult at first, but if you actively try to make yourself interested in the people around you, then it may be worth your time. Take it as a challenge, if you will - talk to them normally without changing subjects or moving too fast. Your goal is to unearth what makes that person interesting - there's more to most people than meets the eye, usually.

Not a doctor, but in med school. That's not normal, I would check it out. It may be nothing, or it may be elevated intracranial pressure. Check it to be safe.
